Theraplay of Northern Illinois

Theraplay is getting in the spooky spirit! We made some goodie baskets with built in picture cards to help all of our friends enjoy trick or treating. Please let me know if you or a friend could benefit from one. 🖤🧡

We’ve officially been in the new building for a few weeks now so wanted to share a few updates for those following along! We still have a few things on our to do list but overall we have had mostly positive reviews (changes are hard) from the kiddos and are settling in to our new Theraplay home. ❤️

Today, Theraplay is officially moving. 🤍

There is so much excitement for what’s ahead, but saying goodbye to the place where it all started feels a little bittersweet.

Seven years ago, I walked into this building with a goal in mind but a whole lot more of unknowns. These walls have held my fears, stress, anxiety, and plenty of moments when I wondered what I had gotten myself into. But they’ve also held more joy, laughter, growth, and celebration than I ever could have imagined.

They’ve witnessed first steps, hard-earned milestones, happy tears, and countless wins for the incredible kiddos and families who have trusted us along the way. Somewhere along the way, this little building became so much more than an office.

This picture was gifted to me when we first opened. I’ve walked past it a million times, but today I stopped and actually read it, and it hit a little differently.

Baileyville Road will always be where Theraplay began. It taught us, grew with us, and gave us a place to become who we are today.

So here’s to the next adventure, with a very grateful heart for the place where it all started. 🤍

Theraplay is moving!!

After 7 wonderful years at our current location, we are excited to be making the transition into town and making this building our new Theraplay home.

Stay tuned for updates and changes we will be making over the next month.

Thank you Joan Welt at Choice Realty for making this process so easy and answering ALL of my questions.

We were very fortunate to chat with Freepod about what Theraplay has to offer!! Feel free to give the interview a listen (be nice, I was nervous!) but more importantly, give Freepod a follow for local news and updates! As a community, we are lucky to have a resource like this!

Theraplay is a local children's therapy operation focusing on helping kids with a range of needs by offering occupational, physical, and speech therapy.

Freepod host Becky Connors spoke to Kelsey Grove about what treatment looks like at Theraplay.

Check out the interview at our website, www.freepod.org, or wherever you get your podcasts!

Thank you all who donate their time and talent to make Sensory Santa a possibility. It is truly appreciated!

Just taking a picture with Santa seems so boring when you could swing with Santa! If your kids prefer to move rather than sitting in one spot, grab a spot at our sensory Santa event at the link below!
