Well, it's been a long time since my last post. A lot has happened. Last day of Summer Day Camp was Friday, August 1, 2025. Let's just say we are...... well nevermind...lol But let me tell you what happened.... bear with me. Week 5 we traveled to Illinois, Week 6- campers learned all about Mount Rushmore and other things in South Dakota, Week 7- The Great state of Florida, and Week 8 - we went all the way to Alaska. They learned a lot about Alaska...so did I. The campers did quite a few great field trips.... Science Museum, Chucky Cheese, Alley Cats, and you know Forest Park Pool was in there. We also had a lot of water days at the center.....because you know it is hot here in Tx. Campers did invisible ink activity, made igloos, and even I got in on making a Polar Bear. Oh and I can not forget we had our very first Spelling Bee. Shout out to North Tri-Ethnic Community Center- Athena 1st place, Southside- Elijah 2nd place, Worth Heights Community Center- Alexa 3rd place, Como Community Center- Parker- 4th place and Northside Community Center- River 5th place. Thanks to all the centers for participating. The campers did a great job!!! All in all this summer was great. thank you to a great Summer Day Camp Staff- Eva Powell- LSS; Divinity Blackshear- Camp Leader; Dajya Jiles- Camper Leader; Aryanna Williams- Camp Leader. We also had some good RLIT's Jerome McMillian, Journee Doss, Alauna Moore, and Trinity Harris See ya next summer..... We are already working on next summer.
Don't forget about us during the year... we have School Break Camps and other great programs and activities for the whole family.
