DRC Solutions

DRC Solutions DRC Solutions is the community leader in providing housing solutions for the homeless in Tarrant County. What is DRC Solutions?

We invite you to learn how you can make a direct impact in our Tarrant County community:
https://secure.qgiv.com/for/drcgiving2024/ DRC Solutions, also known as the DRC, is a pioneer and provider of critical outreach, housing, case management, and safety-net services—programs essential to ending homelessness in Tarrant County. HISTORY
The DRC story began on a spring day in 1997 when bestselling au

thor and former newspaper reporter Jeff Guinn stepped from a downtown bus station to spend a week living on the streets of Fort Worth. His harrowing, first-hand account of street life was published on June 8, 1997 and revealed heartbreaking gaps in help for the homeless. Guinn’s story opened eyes to the human cost of homelessness, and civic leaders responded, opening the DRC as Day Resource Center for the Homeless in 1998. PRESENT
The DRC evolved from a day shelter into an agency providing essential, evidence-based solutions that meet people experiencing homelessness wherever they are in the community. The DRC sets the stage for housing, places people out of homelessness into housing, provides ongoing follow-up case management, and satisfies unmet needs in the community. OUR MISSION
The mission of the DRC is to provide respectful, responsible, effective community-based solutions to help individuals and families emerge from homelessness as productive, healthy people. OUR VISION
The DRC envisions an end to homelessness achieved through investments that make permanent shelter a reality for all who need it. THE NEED
The need for services offered by the DRC is considerable. An estimated 2,000 people experience homelessness in Tarrant County at any point in time, yet there are approximately 1,500 emergency shelter beds in Tarrant County, leaving hundreds outside the emergency shelter system. These people shelter in cars, campsites, abandoned buildings, and other places not intended for human habitation. Housing is the solution to homelessness. When people are housed and receive ongoing case management, they are healthier, safer, easier to locate, have better outcomes with physical or mental illness or addiction treatment, and stay housed longer. Additionally, community costs are significantly decreased when people are housed. Their use of emergency services plummet when people exit the streets into a home of their own. PROGRAMS
All of the DRC’s programs approach the issue of homelessness with housing in mind. We work to prepare, place, and support individuals and families as they journey out of homelessness into a place of their own. Core programs include:

Street Outreach
Providing services to ensure unsheltered citizens have access to housing opportunities. Document Replacement
Replacing identity documents which open doors to housing, employment, and more. Housing Navigation
Working with households assigned to housing assistance programs by assisting in locating appropriate options and walking with them all the way to move-in day. Permanent Supportive Housing
Providing ongoing case management by highly-educated and experienced social workers. To learn more, visit https://drc-solutions.org.

“It is a happy talent to know how to play.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson

DRC Solutions spent the afternoon wishing happy trails to Victoria, our Housing team lead as she moves on to a new role in homelessness services.

Our work is hard. Goodbyes are hard, too, but we are grateful for good times together. Thank you & best of luck, Victoria!

What does "activating your community trusteeship" look like? It looks like a great day. 🧡

Yesterday, a small group from the Leadership Fort Worth Class of 2026 spent the day learning about homelessness in Tarrant County and how DRC Solutions helps unsheltered neighbors overcome barriers to housing and stability.

This incredible group assembled hygiene kits that were distributed directly to people living unsheltered near Lancaster/Riverside area, and packed cleaning kits for clients who are rebuilding their lives in housing with support from DRC case managers. Fun fact: DRC's Director of Marketing & Development, Brit Parker, is a proud member of the Leadership Fort Worth Class of 2026, which made the visit even more meaningful for our team.

By taking time to learn, serve, and connect, these future leaders demonstrated that creating a stronger community starts with understanding the challenges our neighbors face and choosing to be part of the solution.

Thank you, Leadership Fort Worth, for spending your day with us and for your commitment to making our city a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

We wish you kindness, bravery, and strength as you help shape Fort Worth's future. 💙 And learn more about how you can plug into a great community organization and mission like DRC's at www.drc-solutions.org

3,014 people.

That is how many of our neighbors were experiencing homelessness during the 2026 Point-In-Time Count in Tarrant and Parker counties, reported Wednesday morning at the State of Homelessness Address presented by Partnership Home. In just one year, homelessness increased by 14%, with 43% of individuals living completely unsheltered.

This is not someone else’s problem. This is all of ours.

Behind every number is a person navigating impossible choices in an economy where housing costs continue to rise faster than wages. More families, veterans, seniors, and working individuals are experiencing homelessness for the very first time.

At DRC Solutions, we will continue doing what we have always done: showing up every day to remove barriers to housing, replace critical documents, connect people to resources, and walk beside our neighbors until they are safe and stable again.

But we cannot do it alone.

If your business, church, school, team, or organization has ever wondered, “How can we actually help?” then NOW is the time to ask. Schedule time with DRC Solutions to learn about homelessness in Tarrant County, hear directly from our team, and discover practical ways you can make a real impact in your own community.

DRC Solutions had the pleasure of hosting TX State Senator Taylor Rehmet at our offices today. Senator Rehmet took a tour and discussed the needs of our local homeless population with Tony and staff. He also learned more about how our Street Outreach, Housing, and personalized wrap-around services help each neighbor move toward stability because no two circumstances are the same.

Thank you for serving our state by showing up, learning, and fighting for the most vulnerable Texans!
