📹 As a continuation of our efforts for Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we are partnering with Cinema Center to present "Victim/Suspect" on June 24 at 1:00 PM. This free event is open to the public and will include a virtual Q&A session with the two women the documentary is about, Dyanie Bermeo and Emma Mannion.

"Victim/Suspect" is a documentary that tells the story of two young women, Dyanie Bermeo and Emma Mannion, who tell the police they've been sexually assaulted. But, instead of finding justice, they are charged with false reporting, arrested, and even imprisoned by the system they believed would protect them.

"My path began simply enough. I wanted to be a preschool teacher. But somewhere along the way, I fell headlong into the fascinating science of how brains are built, and that changed everything. What started as a desire to work with young children became a conviction that making the world better has to start at the very beginning. Now I show up every day to do exactly that, for children and the families who love them."

-Allie Sutherland (Executive Director and Founder, Northeast Indiana Early Childhood Coalition)

"The prologue to my journey began when I finally believed I deserved to take up space: that my voice mattered, that I had something worth contributing, and that I belonged in rooms where decisions are made. I still need reminders to not make myself smaller just to make others comfortable, but I’ve come a long way."

- Cassie Beer (Director, Women's Fund of Greater Fort Wayne)
