Military history has become a favorite topic for internet sources. There is no end to questions, comments, topics, and opinions such as who is the greatest general, what was the most significant battle, what are the total number of casualties in a conflict or in a certain battle, what was the best army ever, and who is the most decorated American servicemember ever? The advent of online, internet websites and the ability of any person to post nearly any imaginable piece of information, whether factual or not, arouses interesting, and sometimes outrageous statements.

The most highly decorated American soldier of all time, using the term “soldier” for servicemember, is not only an interesting question, but in some circles, important to determine. There are dozens of possible candidates, many of whom have astonishing and brilliant war records. Such a question demands some background and an analytical evaluation if there is to be a conclusive answer. Careful study while using a rating and ranking system based on an order of a merit system and list, shows the most decorated American in military history is General of the Army Douglas MacArthur. Some readers may not agree with this assertion.

It was truly a pleasure to connect with Gary Sinise and his Foundation team and learn more about their incredible work and the meaningful ways they continue bringing people together through service, storytelling, and the power of music.

A special thank you to Gary and his entire team for being so gracious and absolutely rocking it out during a wonderful concert.

As AHF looks to the future, we are excited about developing new “Army and the Arts” initiatives connected to the National Museum of the United States Army — opportunities designed to bring people together through music, performing arts, education, and shared experiences that honor the stories of our Soldiers and military families.

We are also excited to welcome Gary back for a personal visit to the Museum after the busy summer. This fall, we look forward to unveiling an honorary commemorative brick gifted to the Gary Sinise Foundation in recognition of its extraordinary commitment to supporting our nation’s service members, veterans, and military families.

On Saturday, AHF was honored to welcome the Fox Force reunion to the grounds of the National Museum of the United States Army for a gathering celebrating friendship, service, and remembrance. One of the most special moments took place on the Museum plaza beside the unit’s commemorative brick, where singer and Veteran Rockie Lynne offered a private performance for this remarkable group.

The American Revolution is coming to life in an entirely new way at the National Museum of the United States Army with the opening of American Revolution: The Augmented Exhibition — an immersive new experience presented by The Army Historical Foundation in partnership with the Museum and innovative French technology company Histovery. Now open inside the Army Action Center, the exhibition invites visitors to step directly into the defining moments of America’s founding through larger-than-life environments, augmented reality technology, and interactive Histopad tablets that transport guests into the heart of the Revolutionary War.
