When we talk about domestic violence, men are often left out of the conversation. But behind closed doors, men can experience abuse and suffer in silence because of stigma, shame, or fear of not being believed.

Abuse isn't always physical. Men can experience emotional manipulation, financial control, threats, isolation, and physical violence. No one should have to suffer in silence simply because of society's expectations of what it means to be a man.

💜 This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, let's break the stigma. Every survivor deserves to be heard, believed, and supported—regardless of gender.

🚩 Abuse doesn't always stop when a relationship does. Some survivors experience continued harassment, stalking, threats, or digital monitoring long after they've left an abusive partner.

Leaving can be a particularly dangerous time, which is why safety planning and ongoing support are so important.

💜 This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, let's remember that healing and rebuilding take time. Believe survivors, respect their experiences, and help connect them with resources that support their safety and independence.

COMMUNITY DONATION REQUEST: HELP STOCK OUR PANTRIES!

Promise Place is in immediate need of pantry donations for both our shelter and main office. As we continue supporting survivors of domestic violence and their families, your generosity helps ensure essential food and snacks are available when they are needed most.

🛒 Items Needed:
- Canned goods: tuna, chicken, soups, beans, peas, corn, tomatoes, carrots, fruit, and more
- Pasta, pasta sauce, Spaghetti O’s, and Chef Boyardee
- Peanut butter (small jars, creamy or crunchy)
