The Fayette County Development Authority is saddened to share the passing of Emily Poole, a former member of the FCDA team.

Emily was a valued part of our organization, and we are grateful for the time, talent, and care she shared with FCDA and the Fayette County community. Those who had the opportunity to work with Emily remember her kindness, professionalism, and commitment to serving others.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Emily’s family, friends, former colleagues, and all who loved her during this difficult time.

Service information is included below for those who would like to honor Emily’s life and support her family.

Legacy industries are the backbone of Fayette County’s economy, and one of our favorite things to do is spend time with the companies that continue to grow and thrive here. Earlier this week, Amanda Fields, our VP of Economic Development, and Hannah Garrison, Regional Project Manager with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, visited three Fayette County industries - and we’re excited to highlight each one.

First up is Georgia Specialty Metal Supply in Tyrone. Amanda and Hannah had the opportunity to learn more about GSMS’s operations, continued growth, and future plans in Fayette County. Companies like GSMS not only create jobs and drive investment, but also help strengthen the industrial foundation that keeps our community thriving.

And talk about hospitality - the GSMS team welcomed our team with reserved premium parking and had doughnuts from Parlor Doughnuts waiting when we arrived. Safe to say they set the bar high for industry visits! 🍩

We’re grateful for their partnership, their continued investment in Fayette County, and the important role they play in our local economy. Thank you to the Georgia Specialty Metal Supply team for the warm welcome and for continuing to choose Fayette County.

Some of Fayette’s biggest success stories aren’t new - they’ve been growing here for decades. Companies like Hoshizaki America, Gerresheimer, and Panasonic Automotive Systems America are part of what we call our legacy businesses - the companies that have helped shape our community and continue to invest in it every day. Supporting the businesses that are already here isn’t just important - it’s essential. Because when our legacy businesses grow, Fayette grows with them.

Yesterday, Fayette County officially welcomed the game home. ⚽🇺🇸

The grand opening of the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center and headquarters is more than the opening of a world-class facility, it is the beginning of a lasting relationship between U.S. Soccer and our community.

Since U.S. Soccer selected Fayette County following a nationwide search, we have had the privilege of working alongside an incredible team that shares our vision for the future. That vision is one rooted in excellence, collaboration, accessibility, innovation, and community impact. From the very beginning, their staff has embraced Fayette County not simply as a location, but as a partner and a home.

Over the past two years, we have watched this project grow from renderings and conversations into a transformational destination that will influence the future of soccer in America for generations to come. What makes us most proud, however, is not just the scale of the investment or the international spotlight it brings. It is the people behind it. The relationships built throughout this journey have been meaningful, authentic, and deeply appreciated by our team.

We are honored that U.S. Soccer chose Fayette County as the place where all 27 National Teams, coaches, referees, and future generations of players will gather, train, and grow the game.

To the entire U.S. Soccer family: thank you for believing in this community. We are proud to call you part of ours.

Welcome home. ❤️🤍💙
