Employment is About More Than a Paycheck

Throughout October, we've had the opportunity to spotlight 13 individuals and they work they do in our communities.

We've shared their positions. We've shared how long they've been working for Endless Options. Most importantly, we've shared what the people around them have to say about their contributions they make.

Employment provides opportunities to build skills, develop relationships, contribute to a team, and take pride in a job well done. This National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we're proud to celebrate not just where people work but what they bring to work.

Because abilities belong in every workplace.

Some days at the YMCA, we're ready to crush our workout! 🔥 Other days… well, just showing up feels like enough cardio! 🤣

But that's the beauty of it! Whether you're there to get stronger, stay healthy, have fun with friends, or just get out of the house, everyone has their own WHY! ❤️

💚 A BIG shoutout to Central Methodist University! 💚

Thank you for another amazing semester of Adaptive P.E.! From teaching us new skills and keeping us active to building friendships and creating lasting memories, this program means so much to us!

A special THANK YOU to Coach Stone and all the CMU students for your time, energy, enthusiasm, and dedication. You make learning fun, movement exciting, and every experience meaningful!

We look forward to this partnership every year and are so grateful for the relationships we've built along the way!

We’re excited to introduce you to Derek, one of the many talented people putting their abilities to work in our community.

Position: Store Donations Sorter

Length of Employment: 5 years!

What his coworkers say about him:
"Derek plays an important role on the team by sorting electronics and tackling donations like socks and shoes that others don't enjoy sorting as much. He also helps keep the donation center safe by checking and signing off on the fire extinguisher each month, making him a valuable part of the team!"
