💧 In the Spotlight: Romman Duplesis

Meet Romman, a Water Service Tech who has been with Fairhope Public Utilities for two years.

A lot of the work Romman does happens underground, and one part he thinks people would find interesting is how our crews tap water mains to connect homes to the water system. It’s one of those behind-the-scenes jobs most people never see, but it plays a big part in getting drinking water where it needs to go.

For Romman, that’s also what makes the job rewarding.

“Knowing the work we do helps provide Fairhope with reliable drinking water.”

When he’s not at work, you can usually find him hunting. His go-to local stop is Chick-fil-A Fairhope , and the one tool he doesn’t want to be without on the job? A pipe wrench.

We’re glad to have Romman on our Water crew and proud of the work he does to help keep Fairhope flowing every day. 💙

🔥Safety is something our Natural Gas crew works on year-round.

Recently, they took part in additional training that included hands-on demonstrations, and they’ve also been spending time together in-house reviewing safety and talking through the work they do every day.

Some training happens out in the field, and some happens around a table. Either way, it’s time well spent and an important part of keeping our crew prepared for the job.

We’re proud of this team and the effort they put into doing the work safely and doing it well.

🔦 In the Spotlight: Cameron Pugh

This week, we’re putting the spotlight on Cameron Pugh, a Wastewater Operator who has been with the City of Fairhope for a year and a half.

Cameron says one thing people may not realize about wastewater work is just how many steps go into it. From locating utilities and digging trenches to running and connecting pipes and tapping into high-pressure sewer lines, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes.

His favorite part of the job is the feeling that comes with finishing a big project or solving a tough problem for a customer.

And the tools he can’t live without? His wrenches and shovel. As Cameron puts it, “Nothing’s getting fixed without them.”

When he’s off the clock, Cameron enjoys spending time with his wife and their pitbull, Grace, and watching Alabama football with his brothers during football season.

We’re proud to have Cameron In the Spotlight and even more proud to have him on our team.
