Today, we honor and thank the brave men and women who answer the call when others need help the most. ❤️💙

To our firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and all first responders — thank you for your courage, dedication, and selfless service to our communities. You put others before yourselves, often facing danger and uncertainty to protect the lives and safety of those around you.

Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed, and your commitment to serving others makes a difference every single day.

From all of us at the Elsie Area Fire Department, thank you for answering the call, for standing strong in the face of adversity, and for being there when our communities need you most.

Today, Elsie Area Fire Chief Bowen had the honor of joining State Representative Tim Kelly as his guest at the Michigan House of Representatives’ 9/11 Ceremony, commemorating and honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We pause to remember the innocent lives taken, the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the countless first responders who answered the call with courage and selflessness.

We are forever grateful for those who serve and protect our communities each and every day.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Today, the Elsie Area Fire Department pauses to remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We remember the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and countless other first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away. We remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the families and communities forever changed by that day.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor their memory and the bravery they showed in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

We remember those we lost.
We honor those who served.
We thank those who continue to protect and serve.

🇺🇸 We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Boyd Cook joined the fire department in March 2025 as a Cadet. Since then Boyd became a licensed MFR and recently graduated from Fire School.

Boyd joined the Elsie Area Fire Department to serve his community and help people!

Welcome to the fire family Boyd! Congratulations on passing the licensing requirements! We look forward to seeing what the future holds for you! 🚒

Garrett Tabor has been with the department since October 2023.

Garrett wanted to be a Lieutenant to lead future generations of firefighters and to help reshape the culture of the Elsie Area Fire Department.
