Ovid Township Residents:
Please be aware of the August 4th, 2026 Primary Countywide Proposal on the ballot.

Due to the millage rate rollbacks caused by the "Headlee" amendment, voters will be asked to reauthorize the constitutional millage for the County (5.8 mills), general law townships (1.000 mill) and the intermediate school district (.2000 mill). This proposal has been approved seven time since 1994. The last reauthorization was passed in 2022 and expires at the end of 2026.

In general law townships (Ovid Township), a property with a taxable value of $100,000 will increase between $7.42 and $10.00 per year. Information on individual township rates and other details may be found at www.clinton-county.org and at our website along with the Summer 2026 newsletter.

If the proposal fails, the law requires the county tax allocation board to hold a series of meetings annually, at taxpayer's expense, to establish the millage division.

Please consider these facts when you are voting. The funds generated by one mill are used throughout the year to pay for roads and general operating expenses.

Please contact us if you have questions.

Thank you, Nancy Hughson, Ovid Township Treasurer

Ovid Township is deeply saddened to share the heartbreaking news of the passing of one of Ovid Middlebury Fire Department's own, Tyler Pease.

Tyler was tragically taken in a vehicle accident, leaving a tremendous void in the lives of all who knew and loved him. Tyler was a devoted family member and friend whose kindness, humor, and big heart touched everyone around him.

The Fire Department is grieving alongside the Pease family. Ovid Township and our community send our thoughts and prayers as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
