Today, we remember Martha Sodetani, someone whose impact on Warren High School and Downey Unified can’t be measured by titles alone.

Martha’s commitment to students was evident in everything she did. Whether serving on the Downey Unified Board of Education, volunteering in the community, or advocating for children and families, she consistently put others first. Her dedication helped shape the educational experiences of generations of Downey students.

Many members of our Warren family had the privilege of knowing Martha personally and experiencing her kindness, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to doing what was best for students.

We are grateful for her service, her heart for children, and the legacy she leaves behind. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones during this very difficult time. 💙💛🕊️

Warren High School ranked No. 2,612 nationally and No. 419 in California, placing in the top 15% of ranked high schools nationwide. 
 
Downey High School ranked No. 2,740 nationally and No. 442 in California, placing in the top 16% of ranked high schools nationwide. 
 
This recognition celebrates the incredible work of our students, staff and families and our continued commitment to preparing every student for success beyond graduation.
