WRD is a special district formed in 1959 by a vote of the people.

It is the groundwater management agency for 4 million people, 10% of the state's population, residing in south Los Angeles county. The Mission of the Water Replenishment District is to provide, protect, and preserve safe and sustainable groundwater.

Director Allen and staff were proud to support the young entrepreneurs of the City of Lakewood at this year’s annual Lemonade Day! From creative ideas to big dreams, these inspiring young business owners are learning valuable lessons in entrepreneurship, leadership, and community stewardship!
