In 1997/1998 the Board made a decision to get out of debt and work to lower taxes. It took about 9 years to become completely debt free and to start reducing the mill levy.
Weld County made it through the “Great Recession” in 2008, the 500yr flood event in 2013 and COVID without going into debt and paying cash for all of our capital projects like the expansion of the county jail and the Weld County Rd 49 Pkwy, both of which combined cost well over $300M.

So much for the other 4- very disappointing.
The Charter is clear in section 14-8 the Board should have put the Judicial Center to a vote of the people.
Let the people decide like the Charter requires.
Trust and respect are fragile things and once lost - hard to earn back.
