25 years later, we remember.

We honor the thousands of innocent lives lost amid the tragedy, devastation, and chaos of September 11, 2001. We hold fast to the courage of our first responders, the kindness of strangers, and the unity born from our nation's darkest hour.

Today, the Office of the Denver Clerk and Recorder pauses to remember, to honor, and to reflect.

We will never forget.

Thank you for having us! ✨
We loved stopping by to chat about election integrity, civic engagement, and strengthening our democracy. Grateful to community members who make space for these important conversations. 🗳

An engaged roomful of people turned out this afternoon to listen to Denver Clerk and Recorder Paul Lopez encourage people to vote and vote early.

He also asked people to use one of Denver’s 49 ballot boxes across the city, double the previous amount.

“We have a big problem with folks who don't vote, and they have a problem with the system, which has completely let them down,” Lopez said.

And he challenged those at the Indivisible 80238 event to help educate and encourage voting and be involved in keeping elections safe.

Every eligible voter deserves to make their voice heard without fear or interference. 🗳
As Clerk Paul López said in this NYT article: "Our right to vote is powerful and enshrined in the U.S. Constitution and U.S. code." 📜

He adds, "Denver is the vanguard of democracy, and with cast-iron certainty we will protect our free and fair elections from any and all attempts at federal intimidation and intrusion."

The City of Denver and civil rights groups argued that sightings of ICE agents at polling places are having a chilling effect.

Grateful for an inspiring time representing Denver at the Colorado County Clerks Association Conference last week! ✨

Colorado’s clerks set the standard for collaboration, innovation, and trust. Sharing best practices with public servants across the state reminds us why we do this work.

A special thank you to former U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar for joining us as our keynote speaker and sharing his powerful insights. 💡

Now, we’re bringing that momentum back to Denver as we prep for upcoming elections, voter education, and community outreach. 🗳

Huge thank you to the organizers and fellow clerks statewide. Let’s keep moving forward together!
