Montclair Park Neighbors: Construction on the Montclair Park playground will begin soon! Starting Tuesday, September 8, the playground will be closed for improvements. The new design, created with community input in 2025, will feature swings, a spinner, slides, and playful mounds for kids to explore.

Thank you for your patience and support as Denver Parks and Recreation brings this improved playground to the neighborhood.

As Denver Public Library prepares to welcome you back, they’re asking community members to take a short survey. Cherry Creek residents: For your awareness, temporary road closures will begin Monday, August 31, at 7 a.m. as Xcel Energy replaces underground transmission lines, including:

• E 4th Avenue from St. Paul Street to Fillmore Street: Up to 3 weeks of construction. E 4th Avenue will be closed, including the Milwaukee Street intersection. St. Paul and Fillmore streets will remain open.

• E Ellsworth Avenue from Monroe Street to Garfield Street: Up to 4 weeks of construction.

Residents and service vehicles will have limited access to closed streets and alleys. All other traffic should follow posted detours using 3rd or 5th avenues.

Washington Virginia Vale residents: Work is beginning on the E. Tennessee Ave. & S. Oneida St. Stormwater Project!

Crews are arriving on-site, with potholing beginning now and asphalt removal expected later this week. Updated sidewalk closures and no-parking restrictions are also in effect along E. Mississippi Ave.

Please plan ahead and use caution around the work area.

📣 Applications are open for Denver’s Data Center Working Group!

Do you want to help shape the future of data centers and do you live or work in the City and County of Denver? Apply to be on the Data Center Working Group. Applications are open until September 4, 2026.

Denver City Council passed a moratorium on new data center development in Denver. This pause will allow for a working group – in tandem with the city – to help shape regulations on data center construction.

The Data Center Working Group will consist of community members, utility providers, labor representatives, industry representatives, advocacy organizations, subject matter experts, city staff, and City Councilmembers. The group will meet monthly beginning in October to explore best practices, evaluate potential impacts, gather community feedback, and recommend policies related to land use and zoning, energy use and utility infrastructure, water use and cooling systems, noise and air quality, public health and environmental impacts, community protections and engagement, and more.
