As we head into Memorial Day weekend, I want to wish all of our students, staff, and families a safe and enjoyable break. I encourage everyone to take this opportunity to disconnect in order to reconnect; put down the phones, step away from the screens, and spend meaningful time with family and friends. Some of the best moments in life happen through simple conversations, laughter, and being present with the people around us.
While this weekend is often viewed as the unofficial start of summer, it is also important that we remember why we have this day. Memorial Day is a time to honor the sacrifice and commitment of the brave men and women of our military who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage and selflessness have provided us with the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy every day.
I challenge each of you to take just two minutes this weekend to pause and reflect on the service and sacrifice of our veterans and military personnel. In a world that moves quickly, taking time to reflect, appreciate, and remember matters.
Enjoy the weekend, take care of one another, and return rested and reconnected.
