Welcome to the Demarest Volunteer Fire Department. We have proudly served our town continuously since 1894. The Department is staffed entirely by volunteers; doctors, landscapers, plumbers, electricians, dispatchers and career firefighters. 27 members, willing to help you in your time of need. There are some interesting things here that you might not know about.

We can not thank them enough for everything they do for both us and the community as a whole. Demarestโ€™s Finest are definitely one of a kind and we would not want to be neighbors with anyone else.

Just after 4pm the Squad Company was requested mutual aid into Norwood for a working house fire on Seventeenth Street. The Squad took their own hydrant in the rear of the house on the block behind. Four lines were stretched off the Squad through the backyard to assist with extinguishment. Members operated for just under four hours before returning back to the Borough. This year the department participated in a fundraiser for County Road School and auctioned off a ride and a tour of the Fire House to one lucky student. On Thursday we picked up Andrew and his mother, got some pizza for lunch and during the tour he was able to ride along with the Chief for two calls, an activated fire alarm and an inside water leak. Thank you to County Road School for reaching out to us and we hope to see Andrew back with us in a couple years as a new member.

The Demarest and Haworth Fire Departments responded to an MVA on Knickerbocker Road for a car into a pole earlier today, with one party being evaluated by EMS. Knickerbocker Road will remained closed between Hardenburgh Ave and Madison Ave until the repairs can be made to the pole.
