History of the Miamisburg Mound

Discover the fascinating story behind one of Ohio’s most remarkable landmarks! Learn about the Miamisburg Mound, the largest conical earthwork of its kind in the world, built by the Adena people centuries ago. Using archived materials from the Miamisburg Historical Society and historic newspaper articles, we'll explore the mound’s history, the people who built it, and the many excavation attempts that sought to uncover its secrets. Teens and families are welcome to attend.

Try something new and creative! Explore traditions from India through hands-on activities like Mehendi and Rangoli. These art forms are often part of Diwali, the Festival of Lights. This welcoming, family-friendly program is open to all ages. Supplies will be provided while they last, so drop in and give it a try!

In Reconnecting to Our Roots: Food as Medicine, Memory, and Resistance, Pyet explores how food connects us to heritage, supports wellness, and serves as a powerful form of cultural expression. Discover how Indigenous Fusion cuisine, storytelling, and community can nourish us in physical, emotional, and cultural ways.

Pyet DeSpain (Pyetwetmokwe) is a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and an award-winning global private chef. She is the first-ever winner of Gordon Ramsay’s Next Level Chef and has been recognized as one of the Top 25 Private Chefs in Los Angeles by Entrepreneur Magazine. Known for her Indigenous Fusion cuisine, Pyet blends Native American and Mexican culinary traditions, using food as a platform to uplift Indigenous culture, storytelling, and community.

What a boo-tiful morning at Halloween Baby Boogie! 🎃👻

Families filled the Northmont Branch with music, dancing, costumes, and plenty of smiles. Thank you to everyone who joined us for a spooktacular celebration and helped make this year's Baby Boogie so much fun. We loved seeing all of your creative costumes and little monsters on the dance floor! 🧡🕸️
