NATO is descending on Dayton, Ohio this May 22-26th for their annual parliamentary assembly. (R) Mike Turner who has never met a war he has not fell in love with, has personally lobbied and secured Dayton as the city to host their celebration. In Dayton, these hundreds of delegates won’t have to travel far to be within arms reach of all the major players, movers and shakers in the Military Industrial Complex that call Dayton, Ohio home.
For 5 or so days, downtown Dayton is going to be turned into a Hunger Games Style Mega Fortress to protect the rich and powerful while here. Thousands of police forces, drones, riot gear, checkpoints, unmarked cars, mass surveillance, facial recognition and helicopters will set up a ring of steel to keep and protect our beloved leaders.
Right wing, establishment hacks, CIA fronts think tanks will host public events at University of Dayton telling us how great NATO track record of success is since 1949. They are going to try and convince us and scare us that “they” deserve our tax dollars to “keep us safe” rather than to invest that money in high speed rail access/modern public transit, the best schools & teachers in the world, and the best healthcare in the world.
After all why should citizens deserve investments in health, education and public infrastructure? There isnt enough money to go around, we have to keep you safe, fight them over there so don’t have to fight them over here, and we have to bomb people to save their lives. Sound familiar?
Truth is when you look at the scoreboard, NATO is far out in the lead in number of innocent civilians slaughtered the last 30 years. After all killing people to save people is morally justified- funny how that works out huh?
Afghanistan was an absolute disaster and the govt and NATO was lying to our congress and public for 20 years. The bombshell Afghanistan Papers in 2018 spilled the beans on the entire war thru a Freedom of Information Act request by journalists the govt did not ever think would ever see the light of day- whoops!
In those documents the military did its own private interviews with its top generals, off the record, to try and learn from their mistakes in the War. Many of these top generals lied to Congress and lied to the a press while behind closed doors admitting to have no idea who the enemy was, where they were or how to find them. They were completely in the dark most of the time. Their afghan “Allies” were obviously embezzling the cash being given to them by Americans and giving it to the Taliban- facts. Look up the Afghanistan Papers to see how trustworthy NATo commanders are at telling the truth and ask yourself why would we trust them now on Ukraine? Hundreds of thousands dead there and we just packed up and left after 20 years and trillions lost- cool thanks.
Iraq was a NATO was as well- WMD lies, War on a credit card, torture camps at Guantanamo Bay, War Crimes exposed by Chelsea Manning and Edward Snowden, Wikileaks, Dick Cheney, Halliburton… all this mess and did NATO ever speak up lol? Liars. Over 1 million Iraqis killed and another 1-2 trillion wasted, we pack up and leave- ok cool thanks.
Don’t forget Libya either 2011 NATO War Crime. The Nobel Peace prize winning President Obama, fresh off his surge into Helmand Providence Afghanistan with 100,000 US troops that saw the bloodiest action and senseless violence of the entire war(after running on a peace message pfffff) decided to destroy the most prosperous nation in Africa.
Libya had free public education and medical care was provided at no cost. They were able to do this thru investing large amounts of their oil reserves into social programs. In addition their per capita income was of the highest in all of Africa. 15 years later the country is largely a failed state with open slave markets of humans having been reported in the past, the people of Libya lives were not improved by NATO- were instead made 10x worse!
But now for the first time ever, after being wrong about the Cold War 1949-1991, wrong about NATO expansion/provocation post Soviet Union collapse, wrong about even still being activated after Soviet Union collapsed and Warsaw Pact disintegrated… now they have got it right?

At this meeting will be great way to connect with other people and organizations. There we will begin to work on a few projects to counter the narrative coming out of Dayton while NATO is in town.

2. Outreach to Business’s hurt by the Security Zone downtown.
3. May 24th Peace Rally and march information
4. Outreach to local groups feeding people, housing people, helping people, etc.- any charities and non profits- and discuss what could they do with millions of dollars in funding to help people here in Dayton rather than giving 5-10 million+ dollars away to host NATO conference?

Come be a part pushing back against the pro war narrative and speak out about the unethical use of millions of taxpayer dollars for security forces when so many people are going hungry, unhoused, homeless shelters max capacity, teachers underpaid, medical bills thru the roof, etc.
