📚 September is Attendance Awareness Month!

Every school day matters. When students are in school, they are building skills, discovering new ideas, connecting with teachers and classmates, and taking important steps forward in their learning.

Even a few missed days can add up and make it harder for students to keep pace. Being at school, on time and ready to learn, gives every student the best opportunity to succeed.

Attendance matters in September, and all year long. Thank you to our Clio families for making school attendance a priority and helping our Mustangs show up, learn, and grow! 🧡🖤

📸 Help Us Capture Mustang Memories! 🧡🖤

Homecoming is one of those special days that seems to fly by, especially for our Homecoming Court students and their families!

Based on feedback from our families, we’d love to be more intentional this year about capturing those moments before the Homecoming Parade begins.

We’re looking for a volunteer photographer, or a few photographers who would be willing to donate their time and talent to take individual, group, and candid photos of our Homecoming Court before the parade.

Our hope is simple: give our students and families beautiful memories from a day they’ll remember for years to come. 🧡

🧮 CALCULATOR REMINDER

As our math classes get underway, we want to remind CHS families about calculators for the school year!

Students are encouraged to purchase their own calculator, as they will use it throughout grades 9–12 and can continue using it in college level courses.

✅ Recommended Calculators:
• TI-84
• TI-84 Plus
• TI-84 CE

Don’t have one? No problem! 🧡🖤

Calculators are available for students to check out through the CHS Media Center, and math classes will begin helping students with the checkout process this week.

Purchasing a calculator is recommended for long term use, but we want to make sure every student has access to the tools they need to be successful!

⚠️ Synergy Grade Update

Clio families, we want to make you aware of a current issue with Synergy that may cause letter grades to display or calculate incorrectly for some Middle School and High School students.

We are aware of the issue, and no action is needed from families at this time. Our Clio technology team is working with the Genesee ISD team to correct the problem as quickly as possible.

Because this is a system related issue that is already being addressed, there is no need to contact your student’s teacher or school regarding an incorrect letter grade at this time.

We understand that seeing an unexpected grade can be concerning, which is why we wanted to communicate with families right away. We will provide an update once the issue has been resolved.

What an incredible way to begin a new school year! 🧡🖤

There is something special happening across Clio Area Schools. From the excitement in our classrooms and the smiles in our hallways to our students representing Clio through athletics, activities, and so much more, the first week has been an incredible reminder of what it means to be a Mustang.

And what a way to cap off the week! 🏈 Our Mustang football team earned an impressive 58–0 victory over Mt. Morris yesterday! Congratulations to our players, coaches, cheerleaders, student section, band, families, and everyone who came out to fill the stands and support our students.

But this picture represents so much more than one football game or one victory. It represents community. It represents students supporting one another, families showing up, staff pouring their hearts into what they do, and an entire school district coming together around our kids.

To our Clio families, be proud to be a Mustang! There is so much to be excited about this year, the opportunities ahead, the people who make our schools special, and a community that continues to show up for one another. And we're only getting started.

Thank you to our students, staff, families, and community for making our first week one to remember. Here's to an incredible school year ahead, the friendships that will be made, the lessons that will be learned, the challenges that will be overcome, the accomplishments we will celebrate, and the memories that will last a lifetime.

The 2026–27 school year is officially underway, and we can't wait to see what our Mustangs accomplish together. 🧡🖤

🧡🖤 End of the Day Communication Reminder

We know plans can change! To help ensure every student gets where they need to be safely at dismissal, please communicate any end of day transportation or pick-up changes to your child’s school at least one hour before dismissal.

Our school offices need time to receive your message, communicate the change to the appropriate staff, and make sure your child receives the correct information before the busy dismissal process begins. Last minute changes increase the chance that important information may not reach everyone in time.

Please make note of the deadline for your child’s school:

Clio Early Elementary – 2:45 PM
Clio Elementary – 2:30PM
Clio Intermediate – 2:45 PM
Clio Middle School – 1:20 PM
Clio High School – 1:30 PM
Clio Community High School – 1:30 PM

📱 Haven’t Logged Into Rooms Yet? Let’s Get You Connected!

Clio families, if you haven’t downloaded the Clio Schools App or logged into Rooms yet, now is a great time to get connected!

Rooms is our district-wide communication platform this school year and replaces ClassDojo. This is where families can stay connected with their child’s teachers and receive important classroom communication.

Getting started is easy:

1. 📲 Download or update the Clio Schools App.
Already have the app from last year? Be sure to check the App Store or Google Play Store for an update. Some families have reported that Rooms did not appear until the app was updated.

2. ⚙️ Open the app and tap the gear icon in the top-right corner.

3. 🔐 Select Sign In and use your phone number or email address to log in.

4. 🏫 Once you’re signed in, select Rooms at the bottom. It should take you directly to your children’s classes .

Important: You may see “Rooms” in the app before signing in, but you must be signed in to access your child’s information.

If you haven’t gotten connected yet, please take a few minutes to download/update the app and sign in. We want to make sure every Clio family is connected and doesn’t miss important communication from their child’s school and teachers.

Once you’re connected, Rooms will make it easier to keep school communication all in one place.

🔔 First Day Reminders for CHS Parents & Students! 🔔

We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow morning! Here are a few quick details to help day one go smoothly:

🚪 Doors Open at 7:20 AM
Students may enter through either the Main Entrance or the CCHS Entrance. First hour begins promptly at 7:40.

📱 Schedules, Lockers & Buses
Check StudentVUE or ParentVUE tonight to review your schedule. Under the Student Info tab, you can find your locker number and bus information. (If you are having trouble logging in, please reset your password!)

💻 Chromebook Checkout
If you still need a device, checkouts will happen during lunch on Monday and Tuesday (groups will be dismissed directly from cafeteria tables). The Media Center will be closed before school this week. Parents must complete the tech form before a device can be checked out: https://forms.gle/5qH248rHTQm8HdQN7

🚌 GCI Students
1st Session: Bus departs CHS at 6:05 AM, 3rd Session: Bus departs CHS at 11:17 AM

🎓 Dual Enrollment Students
You do not need to be on campus during your off-hours. If you choose to stay on campus, you must remain in the Media Center. If you leave campus, please exit through the Main Entrance and sign out.
