Caring for residents in their homes helps them maintain their independence and remain connected to their communities. Brenda Richardson, Director of Nursing for Home Support with Cuyahoga County’s Division of Senior and Adult Services, oversees the Home Health Aide Agency. The team helps clients with daily needs, including bathing, meal preparation, light housekeeping and errands. Nurse aides Amber and Karen also share their experiences providing care and supporting clients in their homes. Their work helps older adults and individuals with disabilities maintain their dignity, comfort and independence.

We commemorated the 90th anniversary of Jesse Owens’ historic victories at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, where the Cleveland native won four gold medals and made history.

Owens’ legacy extends far beyond the track. His courage, perseverance and determination helped break barriers and made him an enduring symbol of equality and opportunity. His impact on sports, civil rights and American history continues to inspire generations.

We are proud to celebrate a hometown legend whose accomplishments remain an important part of Cleveland’s story and our nation’s history.

Operation Safe Halloween returns tonight, Thursday, Oct. 29, for an evening of trick-or-treating, decorated public safety vehicles and Halloween fun for the whole family.

Join the Cuyahoga County Sheriff Department and public safety partners from 6 to 8 p.m. on Lakeside Avenue in front of the Justice Center. Admission and parking in the Huntington Garage are FREE.
