Not all heroes wear capes… some wear tennis shoes, school IDs, and a whole lot of patience! 💚🐢

Today is Everyday Hero Day at The Big G, and we believe our building is FULL of superheroes!

From our teachers and educational assistants to our custodians, cafeteria staff, office staff, and everyone in between, these are the people who show up every single day, love our students BIG, and make a difference in ways that often go unnoticed.

Different roles. Different responsibilities. One common mission: STUDENTS!

We are so thankful for the everyday heroes who make The Big G such a special place to be! 💚

🚌💚 Happy Bus Driver Appreciation Day! 💙

Today, we’re celebrating the amazing bus drivers who do so much more than get our students from Point A to Point B. Every morning and afternoon, they welcome our students with a smile, keep them safe, and help make sure they arrive at school ready to learn.

Thank you for the extra mile you travel each day and for the care you show our students along the way! We are so grateful for everything you do for our Glenellen Tortoises! 🐢🚌

We wheelie appreciate you! 💚💙

Tomorrow is International Dot Day! Students are invited to wear dots or polka dots as we celebrate creativity, courage, and making your mark! At The Big G, we know even the smallest dot can be the start of something BIG!

International Dot Day is a worldwide celebration of creativity, courage, and confidence inspired by the children's book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds.
In the story, a student named Vashti believes she can't draw. Her teacher encourages her to simply “make a mark and see where it takes you.” Vashti begins with one small dot, and that tiny start eventually helps her discover confidence in herself and her creativity.

International Dot Day is celebrated each year around September 15. Schools use it to encourage students to try something new, take a risk, create, and recognize that their ideas and contributions matter.

🍪 C is for COOKIE! 🍪

Our kindergarteners had a sweet time learning the letter C. They practiced identifying the letter, making its sound, and connecting the letter to the word cookie through a fun, hands-on learning experience. ❤️
