CONGRATS TO OUR 2026 COMP GRADUATES!

CMCSS Teacher Residents complete the COMP program in their final Spring semester of residency. Completing this professional learning program not only allows them to explore numerous strategies for classroom management, but also provides them with opportunities to proactively think and plan procedures for their own classroom! Additionally, there are 3 different cohorts participating together which creates rich discussions and learning experiences. COMP is always a great learning time!

Our new Lipscomb Teacher (LTR- Elementary) and Lipscomb Middle (LMTR- Middle Grades) cohorts completed their new TR orientation yesterday. They spent time building relationships with their cohort members while also focusing on program specific information.

Their residency journey kicked off a couple of weeks ago when they began their coursework through Lipscomb's College of Education. We send a huge thank you to Dr. Vanessa Garcia who traveled from Lipscomb to give a warm welcome to these future CMCSS teachers!

Our Elementary Middle Teacher Residents are only 2 months and a few summer courses away from their Austin Peay Eriksson College of Education commencement, marking the end of their 3-year journey to becoming a teacher. These are bittersweet moments as they prepare to step into their own classrooms, while also having to bid farewell to students they have served as apprentices. Featured below is teacher apprentice, Jennie Maughan being celebrated by her students at Ringgold Elementary School.

Mrs. Herr is one of our newly selected Elementary Middle Teacher Residents who will complete her Associates in Teaching at Nashville State Community College - Clarksville Campus before transferring to Austin Peay Eriksson College of Education to earn her degree & licensure in Special Education with a general education content endorsement for middle grades. Welcome Trinity!

We send a HUGE THANK YOU to Kathryn Crane, a local Eagle Scout and West Creek High School Student!

For her Eagle Scout project this year, Kathryn initiated and facilitated the collection & donation of teaching supplies for our 1st year teachers who completed the Teacher Residency Program last summer. She delivered all the supplies to these teachers mid-year and we are certain they were put to great use!
