I promise, you don't even want to know how early our CEO wakes up every morning... Because in addition to leading Deborah's Place, Kathy also serves as the Board Treasurer for the Supportive Housing Providers Association - SHPA . Earlier this week SHPA's Annual Meeting & Summit was held in Springfield, where Kathy shared her expertise with colleagues in the field and got to learn from others (continual improvement is in our DNA!). We're proud to be leading the charge for more and better supportive housing to improve our communities.

Beyoncé gets it!!! This is going to make such a difference for people who have been struggling to survive in Houston. Here in Chicago, we've been running programs like this for decades, and we know exactly how impactful this kind of supportive housing can be for someone to go from surviving to THRIVING.

KEEP CHICAGO HOUSED.
This morning, we stood alongside the Chicago Coalition to End Homelessness , 26th Ward Alderperson Jessie Fuentes , Alderwoman Maria Hadden , ONE Northside , and dozens of our neighbors to demand that Chicago take action to keep our neighbors housed. We cannot go backwards. We need the city to step up and fund supportive housing to keep 3,000 of our neighbors from returning to the streets.

LaTocha Scott recently dropped by to help serve dinner at Dolores' Safe Haven and Teresa's Interim Housing while visiting Chicago! It was so special to have her as a volunteer—and we love a queen who gives back 👑 Thanks for thinking of the women of Deborah's Place and coming through with the sweet stuff, LaTocha!

Stable housing is su***de prevention.
Having a safe place to live ripples out into every part of your life. It has the power to turn desperation into hope, especially when it's paired with supportive services. When you come to Deborah's Place, you're part of a community that values you, that uplifts you, that wants you to succeed.
There is so much worth living for—and with a stable foundation, it's easier to see. We all deserve that.

When we received a donation of a literal TRUCKLOAD of bras a few months ago, we knew they wouldn't go to waste. Our participants took what they needed, and now the women at Sarah's Circle are getting what they need too! We really do believe that there's enough to go around—it's all about how you get it to the people who need it.
