From the classroom to the Tennessee River! 🌊

UTC environmental engineering students are taking their learning into the field, collecting water samples and studying how development and surrounding conditions affect water quality.

Led by Dr. Jejal Bathi, UTC’s environmental engineering program gives students hands-on experience tackling real-world challenges involving clean water, pollution, waste management and sustainable infrastructure.

Learn how UTC is preparing the next generation of environmental engineers to make a difference in their communities. ⬇️

Give to the future innovators, problem-solvers, creators, and technology leaders who are shaping what's next! They're interning with organizations like NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Tennessee Valley Authority, and Oak-Ridge-National-Laboratorium. They're developing medical devices that improve lives, researching smarter transportation systems, advancing cybersecurity, exploring the future of nuclear energy, building rockets, designing infrastructure, analyzing data, and creating technologies that will transform our world.

At CECS, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Students gain real-world experience through internships and co-ops, undergraduate research, industry-sponsored projects, competition teams, and outreach programs that inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and technologists. From STEM camps and robotics demonstrations to rocket launches and community engagement events, CECS students aren't just preparing for the future, they're helping create it.

Your support makes these experiences possible.

Gifts to CECS fund scholarships, enhance teaching and research labs, support student organizations and competition teams, expand experiential learning opportunities, and provide students with access to the tools, technology, and resources they need to succeed.

Thanks to a generous Milwaukee Tool match, your gift today can have an even greater impact!

Invest in the students who will build our infrastructure, secure our digital future, advance healthcare, strengthen our energy systems, explore new frontiers, and inspire the next generation. Give to CECS today!

“Can we do something?” That question came to Erkan Kaplanoglu while sitting at Rembrandt’s in 2023, watching an elderly woman struggle to lift her coffee cup because of severe hand tremors. Rather than simply observing the challenge, he began searching for a solution.

What followed was the development of a wearable tremor-control device designed to help people with essential tremor perform everyday activities more independently. It is a powerful example of how engineering can improve lives by addressing real-world healthcare challenges.
