Purpose: We help families start and stay strong. Mission: We provide resources that guide people in their relationships to live better lives. Vision: Our vision is for healthy relationship skills to be passed down by every family from generation to generation. Values:
- We lead with empathy. Relationships can be complicated, and we’re no stranger to the challenges and complications of family. We

empathize and understand to the best of our ability before creating and providing resources.

- We put our families and relationships first. Our work, tasks and to do’s will never get in the way of putting our own families and relationships first. We strive to always practice what we preach.

- We are a consistent presence in a changing culture. We know relationships will change and evolve, and we will be a constant part of the conversation. We believe healthy relationship skills will remain a consistent, driving force in the overall health of families and communities worldwide.

- We share truth. Our resources are based on solid, credible research, not our own opinions. We provide the most up-to-date information in engaging, easy-to-use formats.

- We pursue excellence. We go all in and aim to inspire everyone who engages with us.

This is why we do what we do at First Things First.

Not just so your relationship feels better today, but so your kids grow up knowing what healthy love looks, sounds, and feels like. That's the legacy we're working toward together, one family at a time right here in Chattanooga.

If this series spoke to you, our programs are free and open to families in our community. We are here to walk with you. For the family.

So many couples are stuck in cycles they didn't create and don't know how to get out of. Understanding attachment isn't about labeling your partner, it's about understanding yourself enough to show up differently.

Part 2 of our attachment style series. If this is resonating, save it and share it with someone who needs it.

Healthy relationships are learnable. That's what we believe at First Things First, and it's what we show families every single day right here in Chattanooga. ❤️

Your patterns in love aren't your fault. But they are your responsibility, and that's actually really good news. Because responsibility means you have the power to change it.

This is part 1 of our series on attachment styles and how they shape everything from how we argue, how we love, and what we're passing on to our kids. Save this one and follow along.

We're here when you're ready. For the family ❤️

This past Mother's Day we celebrated the moms doing the inner work, breaking cycles, learning new patterns, and building homes where their kids feel safe and loved.

That kind of motherhood doesn't always get celebrated loudly. But it should.

We see you. We are so proud of you. Happy Mother's Day from all of us at First Things First. 🤍

There’s something special about celebrating growth in a place that reflects it so well. 🌱 Our recent MEND graduation at Crabtree Farms was a meaningful reminder that change doesn’t happen overnight, it’s something we nurture over time.

Each graduate planted something of their own as a symbol of the work they’ve been doing, their growth, their resilience, and the new patterns they’re building moving forward.

We’re so grateful for the space to gather, reflect, and celebrate these journeys. And even more grateful for every individual who showed up and chose to keep growing.

At First Things First, this is the heart of our mission, helping individuals and families build stronger, healthier relationships one step at a time.

Parenting brings out the best of us… and sometimes the most reactive parts too.

This isn’t about getting it right every time.

It’s about noticing, adjusting, and growing as we go.

You don’t have to be perfect to build a strong, safe home.

Just willing.

Last weekend, we partnered with Erlanger Nurse Family Partnership to gather with some incredible families for a day centered on Strengthening Families Together. ❣️ Spending time with these amazing families, laughing, connecting, and making memories, was such a gift.

We’re so grateful to walk alongside these families as they grow, connect, and build strong foundations together.
