🍩Happy National Donut Day!🍩
Today, we're taking a sweet trip back in time with this historic photograph of Wall Street near Church Street in downtown Cartersville. Among the businesses captured in this scene is the Bartow Bread Co., a local bakery owned by Myron Brower Taylor and Edna Morris Taylor during the mid-to-late 1940s.🏛️📸
The bakery offered a variety of fresh breads and pastries to the community, and the Taylors' son, M.B. Taylor Jr., even worked in the family business. Located among other downtown establishments such as Dixie Supply Co., McDaniel Electric, Norge Household Appliances, and Law Taxi Co., the bakery was part of the vibrant commercial life of historic Cartersville.
As we celebrate National Donut Day, we remember local businesses like Bartow Bread Co. that helped make downtown Cartersville a gathering place for fresh-baked treats and community connections.❤️🍞
