✨THROWBACK POST✨

Dr. Peaden’s 1st graders explored the phases of the moon—with a tasty twist! 🍪
Using Oreo cookies, students carefully twisted them apart and reshaped the filling to model each phase of the moon 🌓🌕🌑. From the new moon to the full moon, our young scientists got hands-on experience while learning how the moon changes in the sky.

Not only did we build our understanding of space science, but we also practiced sequencing, observing details, and (of course) enjoyed a fun treat at the end! 😄
Ask your child which phase was their favorite! 🌌

✨CLASSROOM SPOTLIGHT✨

In Dr. Watts' math class, we brought geometry to life with a little Minecraft fun! 🎮📐

We explored 2D and 3D shapes by investigating a Creeper rectangular prism and discussing its faces, edges, and vertices. Students rotated through hands-on activities where they identified shape attributes on Minecraft characters, created their own characters using 2D and 3D shapes, and folded nets to build 3D figures.

So much creativity, collaboration, and mathematical thinking packed into one lesson! 💚
