It was a great morning visiting Cabot Public Schools with U.S. Senator Tom Cotton and seeing firsthand the incredible work happening in our schools.

We spent time with military-connected students at Northside Elementary before visiting Cabot High School’s JROTC program, touring their facilities, and watching an impressive drill demonstration.

September is Bring Your Legislator to School Month, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with students, support our educators, and see the programs preparing the next generation of Arkansas leaders!

I was honored to join the Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission for the “Living in the Legacy” National MLK Commissions Conference.

It was a privilege to speak at the opening ceremonies and join leaders from across the country in recognizing the important work MLK Commissions do to advance Dr. King’s legacy through service, leadership, youth engagement, and community action.

It was great to welcome athletes from across the country to Cabot this morning for the opening ceremonies of the 2026 Arkansas Senior Olympics Pickleball Tournament!

This year’s tournament is one for the record books, with 729 registered participants representing 16 states …a new attendance record!

We’re proud to host this incredible event at Game Time at the Grounds, Central Arkansas’ premier sports venue, right here in Cabot.

I am deeply honored to be named the 2026 Legislator of the Year by the Arkansas Ambulance Association.

Our EMTs and first responders answer the call every day, often during someone’s most difficult moments. I am grateful for their service, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to protecting communities across Arkansas.

Thank you for this meaningful recognition. I will continue working to support the dedicated men and women who provide lifesaving care to Arkansans when they need it most.

It was an honor to attend the 2027 Arkansas Teacher of the Year Top 15 Regional Finalist Reception at the Governor’s Mansion and celebrate some of our state’s outstanding educators.

As the state representative for Cabot, I was especially proud to recognize one of our own, Ashley Walton. Ashley is a first-grade teacher at Northside Elementary and has been named Northside Elementary Teacher of the Year, Cabot Public Schools Elementary Teacher of the Year and Cabot Public Schools Teacher of the Year.

Ashley was honored with a certificate and a $1,000 award from the Walton Family Foundation for being selected as one of Arkansas’s Top 15 Regional Finalists. It was wonderful to join her family, Cabot school leaders and 2022 Arkansas Teacher of the Year Jessica Saum in celebrating this well-deserved achievement.

Arkansas is blessed with exceptional educators whose passion and dedication make a lasting difference in the lives of our students.

In light of the allegations and pending criminal charges against Representative McCollum, I am immediately removing him from all House leadership positions, including his committee vice-chairmanship, and stripping him of all House membership privileges and benefits associated with those positions.
Domestic violence is a serious offense that shatters families, harms victims, and erodes the trust that public servants are expected to uphold. Every allegation of abuse must be treated with the seriousness it deserves.
I am praying for everyone affected by these events, especially the family involved, and that justice will be determined through the legal process.
My convictions against domestic violence are unwavering. I am calling on him to resign from the Arkansas House of Representatives or I will convene the House to take the necessary actions.
