Parks & People invites qualified event management professionals to submit proposals to support the planning and ex*****on of Parks & People’s 2027 signature annual fundraiser, known as “Picnic in the Park.” This event brings together approximately 300 supporters, corporate partners, and community leaders for an evening of live music, food, drinks, and celebration. The event plays an
important role in advancing our mission by activating our 9-acre West Baltimore campus and allowing us an evening to celebrate with people who make our work possible.
The event manager will help deliver a high-quality, memorable guest experience that advances Parks & People’s fundraising goals, strengthens relationships, and celebrates our impact.
Scope of Work
The selected event manager will collaborate with Parks & People staff and oversee:
✅ Planning & logistics: Build the event/production timeline and plan, and site layout.
✅ Entertainment: Identify, secure, and coordinate a headliner artist, including outreach,
booking negotiations, contracting, and technical and hospitality requirements.
✅ Vendor management: Coordinate food vendors, rentals, audiovisual production, decor, entertainment, and other event services.
✅ Site and guest experience: Manage setup, signage, guest flow, and VIP arrangements.
✅On-site ex*****on: Oversee vendors, coordinate logistics, and manage breakdown.
