⚾🏆 Making Pendleton History!

Anderson County Council proudly congratulates the Pendleton Recreation Association 12U All-Star Baseball Team on winning the 2026 South Carolina Diamond Youth Baseball Division II “O” Zone State Championship and representing South Carolina at the World Series in Laurel, Mississippi!

The Bulldogs put together an incredible championship run, going undefeated against district champions from across the state and capturing the title with an 11–1 victory over Saluda. The win made them the first Pendleton team to claim the Division II “O” Zone State Championship.

Their success continued on the national stage, where they opened World Series play with an impressive 10–0 victory over Seminary.

This historic season was three years in the making and reflects the dedication of these young athletes, the leadership of Head Coach Douglas Stettler and Assistant Coaches Johnny Leopard and Nathan Leopard, and the tremendous support of their families, volunteers, sponsors, and community.

🎉 Congratulations to the Savannah River National Scenic Byway!

At its August 18 meeting, Anderson County Council proudly proclaimed September 22, 2026, as National Scenic Byway Day in Anderson County!

Designated in 1998, the Savannah River National Scenic Byway stretches 110 miles from Oakway to Clarks Hill, showcasing the incredible beauty of South Carolina’s Freshwater Coast. Along the way are three major lakes and historic dams, welcoming towns and state parks, outstanding outdoor recreation, and the nationally recognized Green Pond Landing and Event Center.

This special designation celebrates not only the scenic, historic, cultural, recreational, archaeological, and natural treasures found along the Byway, but also the dedicated volunteers, organizations, businesses, local governments, and citizens who work to preserve and promote them.

👏 Congratulations to everyone who continues to make the Savannah River National Scenic Byway a source of pride for Anderson County and our region. We encourage residents and visitors alike to get out, explore, and celebrate our beautiful Byway!

⚾ CHAMPIONS! 🏆

Anderson County Council is proud to congratulate the Pendleton Recreation Association 8U All-Star Baseball Team on winning the 2026 Diamond Youth Baseball District 1 Division II AA Championship!

Pendleton put together an unforgettable undefeated 4–0 tournament run, battling back from deficits, earning two walk-off victories, and showing incredible resilience when the championship was on the line.

In the title game against Powdersville, the teams were tied 3–3 through eight innings. After falling behind 5–3 in the ninth, Pendleton rallied yet again, with Konrad Maldonado driving home the tying and winning runs to secure the championship! 🎉

The victory marks a special piece of Pendleton history: this is the first Pendleton 8U team to win a district championship and advance to the South Carolina Division II AA State Tournament.

At its August 18 meeting, Anderson County Council recognized the players, coaches, families, and community members who helped make this remarkable season possible.

Congratulations, Pendleton 8U All-Stars! We are proud of your teamwork, determination, and championship spirit! ⚾🏆👏
