📢 PET MICROCHIPPING PROGRAM IN ORMOC CITY 🐶🐱
Know the Law. Protect Your Pets. Be a Responsible Pet Owner!
In accordance with Ormoc City Ordinance No. 131, Series of 2023, or the Ordinance Promoting Responsible Pet Ownership and Protecting the Welfare of Companion Animals of Ormoc City Pursuant to Republic Act No. 8485, the City Veterinary Office is implementing the Pet Microchipping Program to establish a permanent identification system for registered companion animals in the city.
📌 WHAT DOES THE ORDINANCE SAY?
Under Section 19, every registered companion animal must undergo one-time microchipping. Each microchip contains a unique identification number that serves as the animal’s permanent identifier and cannot be transferred to another animal. In case of a change in ownership, the registered information must be updated through the City Veterinary Office.

companion animals.
✅ Help verify pet ownership and facilitate the recovery and return of lost,
abandoned, or impounded animals to their legitimate owners.
✅ Support the City’s rabies prevention and control, animal welfare,
responsible pet ownership, and animal population management programs.
