"CLEAN SEAS FOR RESILIENT COMMUNITIES"🌊

In celebration of the International Coastal Clean-Up Drive 2026, the Local Government Unit of Maasim, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), conducted a Simultaneous Coastal Clean-Up Activity on September 18, 2026, along the coastal stretch from Barangay Colon to Poblacion, Maasim, Sarangani Province.

This collective effort, joined by our partners, Abbah King Cement, Magwali Bay, PNP, Philippine Coast Guard, BFP, Maritime Police, Panhua Integrated Steel Inc., SEC, CLAFI, and religious groups, reflects our shared commitment to protecting our seas and building resilient communities.

Together, let us keep our seas clean, our communities strong, and our environment protected. 💙

🌊 SCHOOL - BASED COASTAL CLEAN-UP DRIVE AND BEHAVIORAL CHANGE COMMUNICATION | AUGUST 28, 2026

The Local Government Unit of Maasim, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), successfully conducted a School - Based Coastal Clean-Up Drive on August 28, 2026, at Datu Molod Integrated School, Barangay Lumatil, Maasim, Sarangani Province.

The MENRO also conducted an IEC Campaign for the learners to promote awareness of environmental laws, responsible waste management, and the protection and conservation of coastal and marine resources.

The activity was carried out in partnership with CLAFI, PANHUA, ABBAH KING, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), PNP and Datu Molod Integrated School - Students, Faculty and Staff. The collaborative effort aimed to promote proper solid waste management, reduce marine litter, protect coastal and marine ecosystems, and strengthen community participation in environmental conservation.

Together, let us protect our coast and sustain our marine resources. 🌊🌿

International Day for the Conservation of Mangrove Ecosystems 2026 | LGU Maasim

In celebration of the International Day for the Conservation of Mangrove Ecosystems 2026, the Local Government Unit of Maasim, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), Conducted Waste Declogging activity in Mangrove Forest on July 23, 2026, at Purok 7, Barangay Tinoto. The activity involved removing plastic waste and other debris trapped within the mangrove area to restore water flow and protect this vital coastal ecosystem.

This initiative reflects LGU Maasim's continued commitment to mangrove conservation, marine biodiversity protection, and sustainable coastal resource management.

Together, let us protect our mangroves and preserve our coastal heritage.

🏖️ On-Shore Volunteers:

Footwear 👟: Sturdy, closed-toe shoes (sneakers or boots). No sandals or flip-flops due to sharp debris and uneven sand.

Sun Protection ☀️: Hat, sunglasses, and reef-safe sunscreen.

Optional Gear 🧤: Your own thick gardening gloves or a reusable bucket (we will also provide standard supplies!).

Safety Tools 🔪 : A dive knife or shears (essential for safely cutting tangled fishing lines and nets)

🤿 Underwater Cleanup Volunteers (Scuba & Freediving)

Dive Gear 🦺: Mask, snorkel, fins, BCD, regulator, and weights. (If you need rental gear, please contact us at least 48 hours in advance).

Safety Tools 🔪 : A dive knife or shears (essential for safely cutting tangled fishing lines and nets) and a surface marker buoy (SMB).

Mesh Bags: Mesh utility bags for collecting underwater debris will be provided, but feel free to bring your own!

𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀

💧 Hydration & Snacks: A reusable water bottle filled with water and some quick snacks.

🧥 Weather Prep: Bring a light rain jacket, windbreaker, or a warm change of clothes for after your dive/shift if the forecast looks unpredictable.
