The Municipality of Maasim is excited to announce that enrollment for the Maasim Summer Clinic 2026 will officially open tomorrow, April 29โ€“30, 2026.

Maasim, Sarangani โ€” On April 21, 2026 the Local Government Unit of Maasim successfully hosted the Maasim Municipal Women Summit 2026, which was extended due to public demand.

Vice Mayor Visitacion S. Nambatac expressed heartfelt gratitude to the participants for their active involvement, emphasizing how the summit strengthened womenโ€™s organizations across the 16 barangays.

Mayor Zyrex C. Pacquiao, in his inspirational message, acknowledged the challenges faced by the municipality but stressed the importance of faith and perseverance. โ€œWe are very thankful sa munisipyo sa atong pag-celebrate today despite the challenges we face. We conquered them,โ€ he remarked. He further expressed his pride in the parents, saying, โ€œI am very proud sa atuang mga mothers ug parents nga nagtabang ug mold sa kabataan for the future,โ€ Mayor Pacquiao added. As he closed his message, he encouraged everyone to turn to God in times of trials, praying for wisdom and guidance according to His plan, and wished that all would enjoy the celebration.

Mayor Pacquiao, together with the municipal council, also extended additional monetary support as prizes for participants in their program.

A major highlight of the summit was the congress titled โ€œBeyond Awareness: A Congress on Womenโ€™s Mental Health and Inclusive Leadership โ€” Advancing Resilience, Partnership, and Community Careโ€, led by resource person Luz P. Doce, RPM, PhD Cand. Her session focused on strengthening womenโ€™s mental health, promoting inclusive leadership, and fostering community resilience.

The event was attended by Hon. Emelita Pelipas, Hon. Bernard Prangos, Hon. Eddie Gomez Sr., former IPMR Boi Esther Rull, MSWD Officer Vivien Linao, Municipal Administrator - designate Laarnie Tapan, barangay council members, and representatives from Sarangani Energy Corporation.

Fuel Assistance Distributed to Maasim Tricycle Drivers

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Region XII, in partnership with the Congressional Office of Hon. Steve Chiongbian Solon and the Local Government Unit of Maasim, Sarangani, successfully conducted the distribution of fuel assistance to 409 registered tricycle drivers on Monday, April 20, 2026, while the remaining out of the 439 beneficiaries will be distributed on April 24, 2026.

Each beneficiary received financial assistance amounting to โ‚ฑ5,000.00 to help ease the burden brought about by the current crisis affecting the transport sector.

Municipal Mayor Zyrex C. Pacquiao expressed his gratitude to the national government, particularly the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Office of Cong. Steve Solon, for extending timely support to local drivers who continue to provide essential services to the community.
