Tacurong City Gears Up for 2027 with GAD Planning and Budgeting Workshop
City Government of Tacurong officially commenced its Gender and Development (GAD) Planning and Budgeting activity for the 2027 GAD Plan and Budget Proposal.
The two-day event, held from February 26-27, 2026, gathered key official and technical working group members to ensure gender-responsive governance for the coming years.
The program opened with a welcome address from Diana T. Guadalupe, MPA, the GAD Focal Person, followed by a detailed rationale of the activity presented by Nancy M. Bawe, RSW, Chairperson of the GFPS-TWG.
A central focus of the first day was the orientation and workshop on the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) tool, led by Atty. Ryan J. Alair, the City Local Government Operations Officer from the DILG.
This workshop is designed to provide participants with the necessary technical skills to properly attribute GAD budgets to government programs.
The presence of City Mayor Hon. Lina O. Montilla, PhD, served as a significant testament to the local administration's unwavering support for gender-mainstreaming initiatives. As the Executive Chairperson of the GFPS, her participation underscored the city's commitment to prioritizing inclusive and equitable budget allocations.
The activity concluded on the second day with the continuation of the presentation of the remaining proposals.
