The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region will deploy 1,452 police personnel for the commemoration of the 54th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law on September 21, 2026, with comprehensive security measures in place to help ensure a safe, peaceful, and orderly observance throughout the Negros Island Region.
The deployment will include police visibility operations, foot, mobile, and motorcycle patrols, traffic assistance, checkpoints, border control, civil disturbance management (CDM), Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) deployment, and other law enforcement functions. These measures will be carried out in strategic areas to prevent crime, address security concerns, assist the public, and ensure prompt police response to incidents that may arise during the observance. The security force will be further augmented by 8 personnel from other units and 316 force multipliers to strengthen police presence in areas where public activities and gatherings are expected.
PRO NIR will be placed under full alert status throughout the commemoration, with police personnel maintaining heightened vigilance and focusing on crime prevention, timely police response, and effective crime solution. Police personnel will remain visible and accessible to the public while carrying out their duties with discipline, professionalism, and integrity.
PRO NIR will also work closely with local government units, partner law enforcement agencies, force multipliers, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated security effort. The public is encouraged to remain vigilant, cooperate with authorities, follow lawful instructions, and immediately report suspicious activities or security concerns.
PBGEN RUDECINDO L REALES, Regional Director, PRO NIR, assured the public that the police force will remain prepared and responsive in maintaining peace, security, and public safety during the commemoration, while emphasizing the importance of continued vigilance and cooperation from the community.
