In commemoration of National CPR Day every July 17, the Nursing Service Sub-Unit Northern Mindanao (NSSU-NM) with the assistance from the Nursing Service Sub-Unit โ Regional Training Center Misamis Oriental (NSSU-RTC MISOR) successfully conducted a Basic Life Support Orientation focusing on Hands-Only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) at City College of El Salvador (CCE), El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental.
The activity gathered approximately Three Hundred (300) students from various academic programs of CCE promoting emergency preparedness and strengthening lifesaving awareness among the youth. Through interactive lectures, live demonstrations, and hands-on practice sessions, participants learned the fundamentals of Hands-Only CPR, the early recognition of cardiac arrest, activation of the emergency response system, and the importance of providing immediate intervention while awaiting professional medical assistance.
This observance of National CPR Day underscores the importance of empowering students with practical lifesaving skills that they can apply in their homes, schools, workplaces, and communities by equipping future professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond during emergencies, building a safer, more resilient, and CPR-ready communities.
The Nursing Service Sub-Unit Northern Mindanao remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing public health education, promoting emergency preparedness, and fostering a culture of volunteerism and lifesaving service through continuous community-based training initiatives.
