In celebration of Eid’l Adha, the Bureau of Customs Subport of Mindanao Container Terminal, under the leadership of Collector Nasrudin D. G**o, distributed beef to more than 100 families at the BOC Subport of MCT Grounds, PHIVIDEC Compound, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental on May 29, 2026.
Also present during the activity were Atty. Gemma Gloria, MICTSI Terminal Manager; Director Gary Linsagan, PHIVIDEC Industrial Authority and Nesly Ejusa, Operations Manager, Golden Sun Cargo Examination Services Corp.
The beneficiaries were from the chosen Muslim community from Sitio Sihayon, Brgy. Sta Cruz, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental who were each given two (2) kilos of beef and were treated for a simple lunch to mark the Eid celebration.
In his message, Collector Nasrudin G**o emphasized the significance of Eid’l Adha, noting that it extends beyond religious differences as it serves as a reminder of the values of sacrifice, humility, unity, and understanding. He also reflected on the story of Prophet Ibrahim, who was tested in his faith when he was commanded to sacrifice his first-born son as a demonstration of obedience to Allah.
"One of the beautiful essences of Eid'l Adha is the sharing and distribution of meat to family, neighbors, and friends. This act symbolizes generosity, equality, and concern for others. It reminds us that blessings become more meaningful when shared with others," said Coll. G**o.
This initiative is aligned with the social responsibility efforts of Bureau of Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, under the guidance of Port of Cagayan de Oro District Collector Atty. Manuel O. Zurbito Jr., highlighting the Bureau’s unwavering commitment to public service and meaningful community engagement.
