Dr. Kuwenya A. Ibisate, Associate Professor III of Aklan State University Kalibo, presented her research entitled “Resiliency and Sustainability of Tourism Industry in Boracay Island: A Model Analysis,” during the Provincial Research and Statistical Forum held on October 29, 2026, at the Provincial Capitol, Kalibo, Aklan, as part of the 37th National Statistics Month celebration.

Dr. Ibisate was invited as a speaker to share findings from her study, contributing research-based insights on tourism resilience and sustainability.

With the theme “Tuklas Pilipinas: Statistics as Beacon Towards Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable Tourism,” the forum highlighted the importance of statistics and research in supporting informed decisions and sustainable tourism development.

The “BUGNA Jawili Sustainable Enhanced Anchovy Livelihood (SEAL) Development Project” of Aklan State University Kalibo bagged 2nd Runner-Up in Cluster 4: Livelihood/Entrepreneurship/Cooperatives/MSMEs/LED (Competitive – Completed Extension Project Papers) during the PEMNet 1st National Extension Conference, held on October 27–30, 2026, at Hue Hotels and Resorts Boracay, Malay, Aklan.

The extension project was presented by Dr. Marion D. Mationg, together with project team members Dr. Kwenya A. Ibisate and Dr. Ma. Jhoanna G. Guarin. This recognition highlights ASU-Kalibo’s commitment to community-based extension initiatives and sustainable livelihood development.

Kyle Gerick Tamayo, a member of The Aklan Tradesman Publication (ATP) of Aklan State University Kalibo, secured 2nd Place in the first-ever News Writing Contest organized by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in celebration of the 37th National Statistics Month on October 27.

Under the guidance of his publication adviser, Ana Mae D. Macaya, Kyle’s achievement brings pride to both The Aklan Tradesman Publication and ASU-Kalibo, highlighting the campus community’s commitment to developing student talent in journalism and communication.

Students from the College of Industrial Technology of Aklan State University Kalibo secured 2nd Runner-Up in the Chocolate-Making Competition during the Aklan Coffee and Cacao Fest 2026, held on October 25 at Pastrana Park Covered Court, Kalibo, Aklan. Their entry, “𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙖 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙥𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙏𝙪𝙮𝙤,” showcased their creativity and culinary skills.
