We’re excited to share another great example of partnership working in action which has recently taken place in North Lincolnshire. Sophie, our Managing Agent, linked Lifeways Staff in with Diane, a volunteer involved in a local energy-saving initiative in North Lincolnshire, donating slow cookers to individuals with a disability, mental health issue, recent hospitalisation, in order to aid in reducing energy costs.
Through linking in with this fantastic group of local volunteers, the scheme has enabled tenants, along with eligible onsite staff, to benefit from slow cookers as a practical way to reduce energy use and manage day-to-day cooking more affordably.
For many residents, especially within supported living, small changes like this can make a big difference. Slow cookers not only use less energy than conventional cooking methods, but they also support independence by making meal preparation simpler and more accessible.
Here’s James receiving his slow cooker! He told us he’s excited to start cooking some fantastic meals and save on his electricity bill in the process!
