We’re excited to share another great example of partnership working in action which has recently taken place in North Lincolnshire. Sophie, our Managing Agent, linked Lifeways Staff in with Diane, a volunteer involved in a local energy-saving initiative in North Lincolnshire, donating slow cookers to individuals with a disability, mental health issue, recent hospitalisation, in order to aid in reducing energy costs.

Through linking in with this fantastic group of local volunteers, the scheme has enabled tenants, along with eligible onsite staff, to benefit from slow cookers as a practical way to reduce energy use and manage day-to-day cooking more affordably.

For many residents, especially within supported living, small changes like this can make a big difference. Slow cookers not only use less energy than conventional cooking methods, but they also support independence by making meal preparation simpler and more accessible.

Here’s James receiving his slow cooker! He told us he’s excited to start cooking some fantastic meals and save on his electricity bill in the process!

Nothing beats a bit of fresh air and friendly competition!

Thanks to funding from the Homelife Project, our tenants and staff have been head-to-head on our new basketball hoop. It’s the perfect way to squeeze in some outdoor exercise and boost wellbeing. It’s wonderful to see such a positive atmosphere – even if things did get a bit competitive during the games!

April marked the one-year anniversary of our developments.

These two bespoke, new-build properties were designed specifically for single-occupancy supported living. Through our continued partnership with The Hesley Group, we are proud to provide a secure foundation for vulnerable adults as they navigate their college placements. More than just a place to stay, these homes offer the safety and stability our residents need to thrive, both in their education and their daily lives.

We are thrilled to announce that Sarah has been appointed as a Peer Support Representative for our tenants! The management team at one of our North-West schemes have been incredibly impressed by Sarah’s growth over the last few months and we know she’ll be a powerful advocate for her community.

Sarah’s momentum isn’t stopping there. She recently interviewed for a 12-month Regional Head secondment and is flourishing in a new Creative Writing course at college.

Beyond her hard work, Sarah is gearing up for some exciting family time, including a trip to Anfield to watch Liverpool play with her son.

Congratulations, Sarah! We can’t wait to see what you achieve next.

We are absolutely bursting with pride for Emma, a tenant at one of our North-West schemes!

Emma has been working incredibly hard and recently passed her Level 3 in: Understanding Safeguarding (Children & Young People) and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs.

It’s been amazing to watch Emma’s confidence grow. She’s already been smashing job interviews and plans to keep studying new and exciting subjects.

Emma, we are so proud of how far you’ve come – we can’t wait to see what you achieve next!

For the past five years, Holly has turned her home at one of our properties into a personal gallery. Not only is she a dedicated collector of fine art, but she’s also an incredibly talented artist in her own right!

Holly recently shared her dream of taking her skills to the next level at a local college or university. We are so proud to announce that through our Homelife Fund, we’ve funded a fine art class to help her reach that goal!

We get to see her new work every month, and her progress is truly inspiring. We can't wait to see where this course takes you, Holly!

The sun is coming out and so are the gardening gloves! Several of our tenants at a new property in Derby got stuck in with planting sunflowers to enter a friendly competition to see who can grow theirs the tallest! The seeds and materials were provided by our Homelife Scheme which helps our tenants get involved in fun activities.

Even support staff set up their own pot to see whether they can beat the tenants with a monster sunflower! We are hoping to check back in towards the end of Summer to show the results so watch this space!

Our Managing Agent recently visited one of our Wolverhampton schemes after hearing from tenants that they wanted more ways to engage with one another.

Our Homelife Fund was utilised to stock the room with a brand-new collection of games chosen by the residents themselves! Our team had a fantastic time joining the residents yesterday for an afternoon of games and connection.

These initiatives do more than just provide entertainment; they build resident confidence and foster a true sense of belonging.

At our Inclusion Group, we’re incredibly proud to shine a spotlight on Hanson and Rose, two of our Head Office colleagues, who are taking on an extraordinary challenge this year.

Both are swimming the English Channel as part of a sponsored relay swim, pushing their physical and mental limits in cold open water over many hours. It’s a huge commitment that demands resilience, teamwork, and determination — qualities they continue to show both in and out of work.

Hanson and Rose are swimming in support of SwimTayka, a charity dedicated to providing swimming lessons and water safety education to under privileged communities around the world, helping to create safer and more inclusive access to water.

We’re proud to support them on this journey and to cheer them on as they complete their final months of training. If you’d like to read more or support their fundraising, you can do so via the links below.

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Danny to his brand-new flat today. After spending some time in the hospital, Danny signed his tenancy agreement and is officially ready to move in.

He’s full of life and so excited to finally have a place of his own to call home again. Seeing that smile in front of his new front door is exactly why we do what we do!
