Come with a plan. Come with a wild idea. Come with absolutely no clue what you're going to do.

We don't mind.

Build something ridiculous. Invent something that doesn't exist. Join forces with a complete stranger and hatch a masterplan.

Paint a box brown for an entire hour.

Change your mind seventeen times.

Make a glorious mess. Make something tiny. Make something enormous. Make something that makes absolutely no sense to anyone but you.

Grown-ups, you're in on this too. Get stuck in. Go off on your own creative tangent. Or grab a coffee and enjoy not being in charge of anything for five minutes.

No one is here to tell you what to make.

We're not interested in 20 identical masterpieces lined up on a table.

We're interested in what happens when people are given the space to do their own thing.

Play theorist Bob Hughes identified 16 different types of play โ€” creative, imaginative, exploratory, symbolic, social, mastery and more. Once you start looking for them, you realise just how much can be happening when a child is apparently โ€œjust playingโ€.

A cardboard box isn't one thing.
It can be cut up, climbed into, joined to another one, drawn on, turned upside down, worn, built with, destroyed, rebuilt โ€” or become something that would never have occurred to us.
And that's exactly the point.

We can create the conditions for their ideas to happen.
So at Letโ€™s Create, you'll find cardboard, tape, scissors, fabric, pens, Makedo tools and plenty of random gubbins.

You won't find an example of what everybody is supposed to make.
Because we don't want children to get better at following our ideas.

We want them to trust their own.
Time. Materials. Permission.
And then we see what happens.

Next sessions:

Saturday 31 October ยท Stroud Brewery Stroud Brewery Bar & Cafe

Pay what you can: ยฃ5 / ยฃ6 / ยฃ7 per child or young person.
And if money's tight, ask us for a Session for Sam โ€” no questions asked. ๐Ÿ’›

They make a thing. They make another thing. They paint a box green for an hour and then run around in fancy dress. Or tape a tube with 15 different coloured tapes. It's not a thing at all, it's their thing.

And that's how we like it.

Georgie and Alex are here to support, shape, and get what the young people need. You can sit, have a coffee and watch, or join in. Perhaps make that thing you want to make. Totally up to you.

It's unstructured, it's a bit messy and it's totally their time for 2 hours.

Back at Brimscombe Mill this Saturday morning 10am until 12pm. Come when you want, pay what you can, do what they want.

Can't wait.

Weโ€™ve got some lovely news to share ๐Ÿ’›

Letโ€™s Create has been awarded a Community Award from the Stroud Rotary Club, along with ยฃ500 to support our sessions.
Letโ€™s Create has always been about something simple โ€”
making space for young people (and grown-ups) to play, imagine, and create freely.

No pressure. No expectations. Just time, space, and materials to explore.

This support helps us keep sessions low-cost, accessible, and open to everyone โ€” which really matters right now.

We headed to the presentation evening in March, and shared a little bit about what Letโ€™s Create is all about (wihich was so great ๐Ÿ˜…).

Thank you to everyone who comes along, spreads the word, and helps make it what it is ๐Ÿ’›
