𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑭𝒓𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒓 𝑪𝒐𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒔

On Friday 22nd May, student members of our Aldridge SHS Cattle Club presented our current crop of calves for judging in various classes at the Fraser Coast Show. Our team members prepared our calves for judging, ensuring that they were well presented. The cattle were very successful considering the strength of the fields against which they were pitted for show honours.

This year’s cattle show was essentially run as an “interbreed” competition with cattle from all breed types and size ranges looking to be deemed the best the Fraser Coast has to offer. The good news is that we were successful in securing ribbons for cattle we entered. The sweetest result possible as the cattle we are showing are now all home bred by us here on the Searle Street farm.

This year’s result highlights are listed below:

The Ridge Winter Rain – Led steer/heifer under 350kg – 1ST place

The Ridge Winter Rain – Led Steer/Heifer – Reserve Champion

This was an outstanding result in both classes with ‘Rain’ winning against a large class (15 animals). She then went on to be awarded reserve champion just behind the middleweight champion entrant. This result is an impressive one with Rain effectively coming second out of the total of 40 animals judged on the day.

Our new young bull calf The Ridge Wait No More (Kev) came third in a class out of 10 Junior Bulls on show. Kev is a ‘Ridge’ bred calf who is only 8 months old.

Finally, we entered groups of animals in the classes, “Pair of Junor Heifers” and “Breeder’s Group” classes. The Breeders’ Group is a class in which three animals bred and owned by the exhibitor are shown against other studs’ progeny.

Our small stud achieved thirds in both classes, an admirable achievement

The staff and students who attended would like to thank the Aldridge School Community for supporting us in our efforts to prepare and show our animals to their best potential.

🍕 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟭𝟮 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗮 𝗛𝘂𝘁 🍕
Our Year 12 Business students have started researching for their IA3 Feasibility Report. 📊

Their task is to investigate repositioning strategies that Pizza Hut could implement to increase market share and profitability within a highly competitive and price-sensitive market. One strategy students are exploring is the reintroduction of dine-in restaurants. 🏪🍕

With Mrs Brooks being the only person who could remember the original Maryborough Pizza Hut restaurant, the class jumped on a bus and headed to Gympie to visit one of the eight remaining dine-in locations in Australia. 🚌

Of course, fully experiencing the all-you-can-eat buffet lunch as part of the research process was a difficult task… but someone had to do it! 😄🍕🥤🍦

🐄 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 🐄
Our students have been hard at work at the Fraser Coast Show preparing the calves for showing. From washing and drying to combing and grooming, students have been developing their animal handling skills and taking great pride in presenting the calves at their very best. ✨

It’s fantastic to see their dedication, teamwork and commitment on display as they represent Aldridge SHS at this wonderful community event. We can’t wait to see them in the ring! 👏🌾

🎶 SONGWRITING PROJECT 2026🎤

Over the past two days, our Aldridge students have been diving deep into the world of songwriting! With the guidance of industry professionals, they’ve explored symbolism, crafted lyrics, and unlocked melodies that are simply magical.

But that’s not all! In the coming weeks, we’ll be announcing 6 lucky finalists who will have their original songs professionally recorded and mixed, ready to take on the global airwaves! 🌍

Our Aldridge recording studio is buzzing with creativity, and we can’t wait to see what our talented young songwriters will create next.

Big shoutout to lead mentor and recording artist Pat Kenny who continually supports our music program and who this year brought a few friends including the insanely talented Brook St Freight Train Foxes & Emmie Music

Thanks to Mr. Hodgkinson "Hodgo" for championing our students and encouraging them to push their creative boundaries! 🙌

Congratulation Tianna!
Aldridge SHS would like to congratulate Year 12 student, Tianna, on success in being offered a place in this year’s QUT Future You Summit Program.

The QUT Future You Summit will be held Tuesday 30 June – Friday 3 July. Across four days, students will join 325 Year 11 and 12 students from across Queensland and northern NSW, engaging in hands-on learning, interactive workshops, and sessions with QUT academics and industry speakers. The program is designed to provide meaningful insight into university life, future career pathways, and the skills needed for success beyond school.

Our Year 9 HPE students have been putting their determination and resilience to the test as they sharpen their targeting skills in archery 🎯 and continue developing their athletic abilities across a range of events, including shot put 🥎.

All of this hard work is helping them prepare for the upcoming Sports Carnival in Week 8 — we can’t wait to see them put their skills into action! 👏🏅
