In December, Hamilton County Juvenile Court, Hamilton County Job & Family Services, and Talbert House will launch the first phase of their new 16-bed Child Wellness Campus at Hillcrest. The Wellness Campus beds are for Hamilton County children who need temporary placement and are referred by the Court or Hamilton County Job & Family Services.

They are inviting members of the public to an information session on Thursday, November 5, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. at the site located at 264 Bonham Road. This session will give attendees the opportunity to learn more about the Wellness Campus and tour the facility.

At the October City Council meeting several homeowners were presented with Beautification Awards. We will be highlighting these homes over the next several weeks.

The first award is the Architecture Award that went to the Welcker Family on 436 Hillcrest Drive.

They returned to Wyoming a year ago after living in New Orleans. Their vision for their home’s architecture was inspired by a desire for it to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings—creating the feeling of “living in a nature preserve” in a way that would make Frank Lloyd Wright proud. Their attention to detail can be seen throughout the property, from the individually painted dragon’s teeth to the thoughtful way the home and landscape come together to create a flowing panorama of nature.

In 2025, several improvement alternatives at the Galbraith Road interchange and at Wayne Avenue were presented to the public for review and comment. The project team selected Alternative 2 (a new single lane roundabout at the intersection of Millsdale Street and Wayne Avenue) as the Preferred Alternative for the Wayne Avenue Interchange.

The project team is currently evaluating two additional alternatives at Galbraith Road and would like your feedback.

This self-guided tour through a series of tabs will present the new alternatives at the I-75 & Galbraith Road interchange. We are asking for your feedback only on these additional alternatives at this time. You are welcome to review all of the improvement options that were previously evaluated, but the comment period for the earlier set of alternatives has closed.

Construction will begin next week on a new 12” water main from the water tower to Hilltop School. The main is proposed to be routed underneath the existing sidewalk on Reily for most of the route through the Hilltop Park area.

There will be no new water services to homes included in this project. Essentially, it is a fire main that will also serve the school’s drinking water needs. Ultimately, when Reily is repaved (in 10+ years), new water services will be tapped into this main, and we will abandon the old water main from the tower to the school.

The project is scheduled to be completed by year-end. There will be a couple of required water shutdowns when this main is tied into the water system. We will provide advance notice when that occurs (anticipated for late November or early December). In the meantime, the sidewalk in that area will be closed, and there will be construction vehicles and lane closures during the work.

Thank you for your patience as we upgrade the water system.

Our 4th Annual Wyoming Wellness Fair will be happening on Saturday, January 9, 2027 from 10am-3pm at the Wyoming Civic Center.

We are still looking for a few vendors to join, if you are interested in participating please reach out to Emily Dengler, our Communications & Events Coordinator at [email protected].

This event has vendors who will focus on wellness as a whole! So if you are looking at learning more about nutrition, mental health, fitness routines, and many more areas of wellness, come on down to the event!

Trick or Treat is a little over a week away!

Trick or Treat will happen on Saturday, October 31st from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. This event happens RAIN OR SHINE.

Be safe and don't travel alone. Stay with a group. Cross at crosswalks. Only trick or treat at houses with porch lights on. Wyoming Police will have extra patrols out.

This week at City Council, the Urban Forestry & Beautification Commission had the pleasure of presenting Beautification Awards to these wonderful residents. They were recognized for their outstanding contributions in the following categories:
