Veterans Day is coming up, and we're calling all Westfield students to showcase their creativity, honor our nation's veterans, and have the chance to WIN A MONETARY PRIZE! 🇺🇸

The deadline to enter the City of Westfield - Government Veterans Day Poster, Poem, and Essay Contest, sponsored by T-Mobile Fiber, is this Friday, October 30!

Students in grades K–12 are encouraged to reflect on this year's theme, "What Does Freedom Mean to Me, and How Have Veterans Helped Protect It?" through a creative poster, poem, or essay.

🏆 Monetary prizes will be awarded to contest winners, who will also have the opportunity to be recognized at the City's Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11!

TODAY’S THE DAY! Trick or Treating in the Plaza, sponsored by NSPIRE Church, is happening tonight from 4:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Grand Junction Plaza!

While enjoying the Halloween fun, here are three ways to give back:

Grand Junction Plaza is bringing all the Halloween vibes and we can’t wait to see you there! Join us tomorrrow from 4:30 - 8:00 p.m. for an evening packed with loads of trick or treating, festive activities, food vendors, and much more fun for the whole community.

The City of Westfield will honor local veterans at its annual Veterans Day Ceremony, presented by Citizens Energy Group, on Wednesday, November 11, at the IMMI Conference Center (18880 East Street).

“Being a member of the U.S. Marine Corps is one of the greatest honors of my life,” said Mayor Scott Willis. “I’m proud that our community is coming together again to celebrate and honor the incredible men and women who put their lives on the line in the name of freedom.”

Veterans, their families, and members of the community are encouraged to attend. The Veterans Day Ceremony is free and open to the public. Please RSVP in advance at westfieldin.gov/veteransdayRSVP

Complimentary coffee, sponsored by Mark Heirbrandt, and breakfast, provided by Westfield High School Foodies Rock, will be available from 7:30–8:30 a.m. The ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will feature special remarks from Mayor Scott Willis and Citizens Energy Group President Jeff Harrison, as well as a keynote address from U.S. Air Force veteran and veterans advocate Lisa Wilken.

The City of Westfield would like to honor local veterans during the presentation slide show. To submit a photo of yourself or local veteran you know, please submit a photo of the veteran with full name and service branch by October 30 to be featured on the presentation at the ceremony. Local students are invited to participate in the annual Veterans Day Student Poster, Poem, and Essay Contest, sponsored by T-Mobile Fiber.

Students are encouraged to use their creativity to explore this year’s theme and reflect on the important role veterans have played in protecting the freedoms we enjoy.
