Dignity. Choice. A fresh start.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the congregation of Temple Micah for their continued generosity and support of Friendship Place!

This past Yom Kippur, their annual underwear donation drive evolved into a dedicated Undergarment Fund, allowing Friendship Place participants to choose brand-new undergarments in the sizes, colors, and styles they prefer.

Because dignity isn't just about receiving what you need. It's about having the freedom to choose.

Thank you, Temple Micah for your wonderful ongoing partnership and commitment to our neighbors experiencing homelessness in Washington, DC!

🎃 55 Halloween bags for the children of VALLEY PLACE!

And a whole lot of community spirit!

Students from the George Washington University Black Student Union came together to decorate 55 Halloween trick-or-treat bags for children experiencing homelessness at Friendship Place's Valley Place!

Each bag was decorated with creativity, Halloween cheer, and a thoughtful reminder that even the simplest acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.

A huge THANK YOU to The Black Student Union GWU and especially Serwaa Brew-Smith for organizing this wonderful effort and bringing fellow students together to give back to the DC community.

We love seeing the next generation of community leaders in action! 🧡

Help us thank these incredible students for spreading a little Halloween joy right here in DC!

Neighbors helping neighbors. That's what community is all about!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the wonderful community at Seabury at Friendship Terrace for their generous delivery of snack packs to Friendship Place's Welcome Center!

Located in Washington, DC's Tenleytown neighborhood, Friendship Terrace is a deeply affordable independent living community for older adults. Their thoughtful contribution is a beautiful reminder that generosity, compassion, and the desire to help others bring neighbors together across generations.

These donated snack packs will help Friendship Place provide food and a welcoming environment for individuals experiencing homelessness who turn to our Welcome Center for support.

What makes this gesture especially meaningful is the spirit behind it: One community reaching out to care for another, right here in Ward 3.

To the residents, staff, and entire Friendship Terrace community, thank you for thinking of your neighbors and choosing to make a difference.

Your generosity reminds us that a stronger Washington, DC begins when we look out for one another.

From all of us at Friendship Place, THANK YOU for being such thoughtful community neighbors!

Future healthcare professionals making a difference in their community!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the Georgetown Pre-Medical Society for their generosity in assembling and donating 50 snack bags to Friendship Place's Welcome Center in Washington, DC!

Each thoughtfully assembled bag represents more than a snack. It's a simple but meaningful gesture of kindness, compassion, and community support for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

These Georgetown University students are demonstrating that caring for others doesn't begin when you earn a medical degree. It begins with recognizing a need and choosing to make a difference.

At Friendship Place, we're grateful for community partners who turn their commitment to service into meaningful action.

To the Georgetown Pre-Medical Society: Thank you for showing what compassionate leadership looks like! Your generosity is helping us extend a warmer welcome to the neighbors we serve.

Compassion has no age requirement. And these young people are proving it!

Friendship Place extends a heartfelt THANK YOU to the St. Ann DC Youth Group, whose middle and high school students in grades 6–12 came together to prepare sandwich bags for La Casa, one of our permanent supportive housing programs in Washington, DC.

From sixth graders to graduating seniors, these young neighbors are demonstrating something powerful: You don't have to wait until adulthood to make a meaningful difference in your community.

Their generosity reflects the spirit of service, compassion, and looking out for one another that makes our DC community stronger.

For the residents of La Casa, these thoughtfully prepared sandwiches represent more than a meal. They are a reminder that their neighbors care.

To the students, youth leaders, and St. Ann Catholic Church community: THANK YOU!

Your kindness is an inspiring example of young people putting compassion into action. We are grateful for your partnership in Friendship Place's mission of ending homelessness and rebuilding lives.
