Here's a snippet of our artist talk and interview at The DC Arts Center yesterday! We interviewed Avery Williams, a young man who grew up in Life Pieces and now works with us as a Co-Educator, leading a classroom full of young Apprentices who are just like he was years ago!

Here he discusses observing the artistic process taking place in the art room when he was part of the Legacy classroom (10-12 year-olds).

Our Life Pieces Apprentices got these INCREDIBLY nice adidas bookbags from the wonderful folks at D.C. United! 50 bookbags - filled with school supplies! - were donated to the Apprentices, many of whom were previously going to school without bookbags or supplies. Many thanks to D.C. United for this generous gift!

This week, the young Apprentices of Life Pieces got to hang out with the gentlemen from the American University Men's Basketball team! The guys were so kind to our boys, who had an absolute blast reading, playing, and learning with these incredible athletes!
