Chavez Family,

Our Chavez Track & Field Team showed up to the Championship Meet and truly showed out! Throughout the season, our scholars demonstrated dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence, and they capped off the year with an outstanding performance on the biggest stage.

We are proud to recognize the following accomplishments:

🏃‍♀️ Jamia Christian had an exceptional day, finishing 1st in her heat of the Girls 100M and recording the 6th-fastest time overall in the championship. She also finished 1st in her heat of the Girls 400M, posting the 3rd-fastest time in the entire championship. To top it off, Jamia finished 1st in her flight for Shot Put and earned a 3rd-place finish overall in the championship.

🏃‍♂️ Za’Kari Hoes dominated the competition, finishing 1st in his heat of the Boys 400M and 1st in his heat of the Boys 200M.

🏃‍♀️ Aaminah Everhart finished 1st in her heat of the Girls 400M, while our talented 6th grader McKenzie Washington earned a strong 2nd-place finish in the same event.

🏃‍♂️ Donatello Howard continued his impressive season by finishing 3rd in the Boys 400M.

🏃‍♀️ Saedy Mayo finished 1st in her heat of the Girls 200M, showcasing her speed and determination.

🏃‍♀️ Our Girls 4x100 Relay Team delivered an outstanding performance, earning a 3rd-place finish in the championship.

These accomplishments are the result of months of hard work, early practices, determination, and a commitment to representing Chavez with pride. While the medals and placements are impressive, what makes us most proud is the character, resilience, sportsmanship, and effort our scholars displayed throughout the season.

To all of our student-athletes, coaches, families, and supporters—thank you for an incredible season. We have come a long way, and our scholars gave nothing less than their very best.

Congratulations, Eagles! We are proud of you and look forward to even greater success in the future.

🦅 Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle!

At Chavez, we believe every scholar deserves an education that prepares them for success in life, college, and career—and so much more.
Our school is home to wonderful teachers and dedicated staff who support, challenge, and inspire students every day. They go above and beyond to make sure every scholar is seen, heard, and valued.
We are proud of our STEM Lab, where students explore science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on learning and real-world problem solving. Creativity and innovation are at the center of everything we do.
Our after-school clubs give scholars the chance to explore their passions, build friendships, and develop new skills beyond the classroom.
The Tiger Woods Media Center is a place where imagination grows—offering access to books, technology, research tools, and a space where scholars can discover a love for learning.
We also take pride in our amazing sports teams, where students learn teamwork, discipline, leadership, and school pride both on and off the field.
Most importantly, Chavez is guided by strong leadership that works every day to ensure our scholars are not only prepared for college or career—but are truly well-rounded individuals ready to thrive in any path they choose.
At Chavez, we don’t just prepare students for the future—we help them build it.
