WOW! What an incredible night! 🧡

We want to send a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came out to our Halloween Carnival last night! Thanks to our amazing community, we had our BEST TURNOUT YET! 🎉

Seeing so many families, creative costumes, smiling faces, and kids enjoying the festivities made the evening truly special. We couldn’t have asked for a better night, and we are so grateful for the continued support from our community!

As you head out for trick-or-treating tonight, remember to stay visible, watch for traffic, and keep an eye out for all the little ghosts and goblins! 🍬🚗

We’re excited to welcome the community back for another year of Halloween fun at Station 1! Bring the family, invite your friends, and come spend the evening with us for games, prizes, pumpkin painting, movies, snacks, drinks, ambulance tours, bounce house, spooky vibes, and plenty of fun for all ages.

Costumes are encouraged, but not required, so whether you come dressed up or simply come as you are, we’d love to have you join us.

We’ll also be accepting donations during the event for our Annual Food Drive. All donations collected will be given to the Agape Help House right here in Pacific to help support individuals and families in our local community.

Today, on World Stroke Day, Meramec Ambulance District reminds our community that a stroke can happen to anyone, at any age, at any time. Recognizing the warning signs and calling 911 immediately can make a life-saving difference.

Remember to B.E.F.A.S.T.:

⚖️ B – Balance: Sudden loss of balance or trouble walking
👁️ E – Eyes: Sudden blurred, double, or loss of vision
🙂 F – Face: One side of the face is drooping — ask them to smile
💪 A – Arms: Weakness or numbness in one arm — ask them to raise both arms
🗣️ S – Speech: Slurred, strange, or difficult-to-understand speech
⏱️ T – Time: If you notice ANY of these signs, call 911 immediately.

🚑 When it comes to stroke, every second counts.

Don’t wait to see if symptoms improve, and don’t drive yourself to the hospital. Call 911. Meramec Ambulance District’s highly trained paramedics are ready 24/7 to respond, begin critical care, and get you to the appropriate hospital as quickly and safely as possible.

Today, we recognize the dedicated men and women who answer the call when our communities need them most.

From EMTs and paramedics to firefighters, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, corrections officers, military personnel, and all those who serve on the front lines of emergencies, your courage, compassion, and commitment to helping others do not go unnoticed.

At Meramec Ambulance District, we are especially proud of our incredible team of first responders who work around the clock to provide exceptional care to the communities we serve. Whether it's a routine call or a life-threatening emergency, their dedication to making a difference shines through every day.

We are also grateful for our neighboring first responder agencies, corrections personnel, military service members, and community partners who stand alongside us, working together to keep our communities safe.

💙 To all first responders and those who dedicate their lives to serving and protecting others: Thank you for your service, your sacrifices, and your unwavering dedication.

⏰ Don’t Forget to Fall Back!

Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 1. Before heading to bed Saturday night, remember to set your clocks back one hour and enjoy that extra hour of sleep!

While you’re changing your clocks, it’s also a great time to take care of a few important health and safety checks:
💊 Review your medications and check expiration dates
📝 Make sure your medication list and emergency medical information are up to date
🩹 Check your first-aid kit and replace any expired or missing supplies
📱 Make sure emergency contacts are current and easy to find
🏠 Take a moment to reduce fall hazards, especially around stairs, hallways, and frequently used areas

A few simple steps can help you and your family be better prepared if a medical emergency happens.

From October 30 through November 9, Meramec Ambulance District is bringing together ten days of community giving, fun, and friendly competition to support our neighbors.

We’ll kick off the 10 Days of Giving on October 30 at our Halloween Carnival. Bring a nonperishable food donation, enjoy the festivities, and help us start the drive strong! 🎃

Throughout the ten days, we’ll be collecting food for Agape Help House in Pacific as part of our annual Battle of the Badges competition with Pacific Fire Protection District and the Pacific Police Department. When you donate, you can choose which department you want your donation to count toward. 🥫

The department that collects the most donations will be crowned the Battle of the Badges Champion and earn some serious bragging rights — plus the chance to pie a representative from each of the two losing departments! 🥧

Then, on November 9, we’ll close out our 10 Days of Giving with our blood drive and one final opportunity to bring in food donations (separate post to come regarding this information). 🩸❤️

Over those ten days, there are plenty of ways to give — donate food, donate blood, support your favorite badge, and help local families in our community.

It’s a spooktacular evening out in our community! 🎃

8537 spent the evening at Nike Elementary’s Trunk or Treat, while 8557 is joining in on the Halloween fun at Witches and Warlocks in town!

Our crews love getting out into the community, seeing all the creative costumes, and sharing some Halloween spirit with the families we serve!
