New Marana Middle School 7th graders: Get ready for middle school this July at MMS Falcon Camp! Marana Middle School’s Falcon Summer Camp is a free four-day program to help students feel confident and prepared for their transition to middle school. Students will explore campus, meet teachers and staff, practice class transitions, and make new friends before the school year begins.

July 20–23, 2026 at MMS
8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. daily

Uncovering the History of Marana Schools

In this year’s issue of the Horizon, the District's print magazine, we dug into the history of Marana Schools over the past 115 years. From scattered board-and-canvas classrooms serving railroad and farming communities, to the Marana High School we know it today opening in 1975 way off Emigh Road, to junior high students being the first class of students to enroll at Mountain View in the late 80s, our history highlights the good that can happen when communities support their local public K-12 schools. Take a minute to learn all about the history of and the community we call home!

🍽️🌮 Rattlesnake Ridge 6th grade students continued a special tradition, hosting their end-of-year Mexican Restaurant project!
Students opened doors to three restaurants, Calavera’s, Poco Loco Café, and La Bamba’s Grill, and welcomed families, staff, and guests to experience a student-run dining experience showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and hard work.

From designing menus to taking on restaurant roles, students applied real-world skills through this fun hands-on project connected to their Ancient Civilizations studies.

📚 to our LETRS Certification Graduates! 🎉📚

proudly recognizes an incredible group of teachers who recently completed their Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) Certification, strengthening literacy instruction and student support across our schools.

The LETRS certification is a nationally recognized professional learning program grounded in the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy practices. Through this training, teachers gain research-based strategies and tools to better support literacy development for all students. The LETRS certification is one pathway for achieving the new literacy endorsement mandated by the State of Arizona.

Teachers who completed the program shared that LETRS has strengthened their confidence in literacy instruction, reading interventions, and supporting student growth.
